The Exception

The first day on the road and I was already worried about the show. I hadn't really performed in years and this was a huge step. People were buzzing all over social media and I just wanted to live up to the fans expectations. I had a nice trackist and I was going to bring out some people from KUDOS. About an hour before the show I got a call from Nadya and she was really trying her hardest to get over the fact that I was on the road. It wouldn't be long before the other kids and the whole family came along but I was really missing her. The kids that I had with me where all consumed with their phones or the beach.

Ten minutes before I got on Amari and Duece were there by my side.

Amari, "So you pumped?"

Me. "I feel like I'm about to throw up all my insides. It's been a minute since I performed for mad people on my own and we haven't really practiced to much. I just want to make the fans happy"

Amari, "Duece go and get him some Ciroc and Red Bull. That will calm him down and I'll get the Jolly Ranchers. Now J, just close your eyes"

After a couple sips of Ciroc I was ready to go and was jamming to my opening act. I had gotten this singer named Esty, who was on Tyga's label to be my opening act and she was amazing. The girl literally reminded me of a female version of The Weeknd. When she was done with her set  I was ready to go out and show the world what they had been waiting for. By the time I reached the 10th song on the tracklist I was sweating through all my clothes. 

After the show ended I went straight to the dressing room to take a quick shower and change my clothes . I had about 20 minutes worth of meet and greets and then we had to pack it all up and head back on the road. Usually I would have gone to an after party but there was really no time. I had a show tonight in L.A. and then I had another show in San Francisco the next night. For the first month of the tour almost every day was a show and that would be the most grueling part of the schedule.

After the first three shows I started to get my mojo back and I was able to really start vibing for the crowds. When we changed cities I would end the show with a different song and I couldn't wait until we headed to Houston. Esty was doing her thing holding down the opening act but it was too much for her to take on every night like the schedule required. So I had her work some nights and then I had Cyhi Da Prynce come and do some other shows. I had great respect for both artist and they came through to jam with me whenever they wanted to.

The Huouston date had me on edge because I would be home and it was also the first time that Nadya and I would be going public. Like none of the blogs had caught on to her and while it was a good thing it was also problematic because there were constant rumors that I was with other people. I knew that she didn't believe them but it was annoying. The day before the show I was back home and wanted to hear what she had to say about the big reveal.

Me, "Nadya are you ready for tomorrow night? lIke do you still want to go through with it?"

Nadya, "Come on, why wouldn't I want to go through with it? Are you scared some shit is gona happen?"

Me, "I"m not scared of anything happening. I'm just asking cause we haven't really talked about it"

Nadya, "It's not anything to special. I'm still your girlfriend and we are normal people. Why are you so worried?"

Me, "I've never had a true significant other in the spotlight with me and I don't want you to go crazy trying to pursue anything with the blogs.  they can be crazy and say loads of shit so don't stick to them"

Nadya, "Okay J. I think that I can handle some blogs, listen I just want to see you perform and have a good time. this is like one of the rarest things to happen"

Me, "Listen after this show you need to come on the road with me. I can't do this separation thing anymore, like I need some of that lovin and just someone to cuddle with at night"

Nadya, "So am I supposed to just leave the kids alone?"

Me. "Look I got my two brothers coming down here soo and Kia can handle them until they come. You know that I'm a pretty patient dude but there's only so much FaceTime and Skype can do for us. Plus you act like you haven't been missin all of this right hur"

Nadya, "I can neither deny nor accept these statements but it would be fun to travel on the road with you. My mom or Chai could watch Zion until his school ends"

Me."Just imagine us having sex on the balcony of  a house, while we watch the sun set and see the waves hitting the nice beach. doesn't that sound amazing?"

Nadya, "Someone has been really missing me, like damn boy"

Me, "You don't know my struggles, like I need me some of you right goddman now"

Nadya, "Listen you have a show, I don't want your energy to be out before you perform"

Me, "Nah, we can go a couple rounds and nothing would happen. I am running to damn high right now, lemme get some of that ma, you gon help a brother out or nah?"

Nadya, "How can I resist, when you say NAH? I'm a classy chick"

Me, "Haha, so funny. come over here and give daddy some lovin"

The next day

For the most part I wasn't worried about the show but I was surely going to do it big. I had some major guest coming through and at the last minute one artist that I was working with on an un-released song decided that they wanted to come through. we had worked together years ago when I was apart of KUDOS and made maybe two songs but  I highly doubted any of the fans would remember the song. Luckily I had basically all of KUDOS with me and they were going to open up the show.

We played a sure fire set, and the fans were rocking for days. As the show came to an end I brought out my special guest and we did our two songs, then she brought out someone that I admired, Mr.Carter himself and I left the stage open to him. He had been one of my rap idols ever since I was young and one of my first raps was to his song Public Service Announcement. Dequan must have known that he was coming through because Jay did a song or two and then started talking about how he hear I started rapping because of him. Out of nowhere he pulls out a chair and starts telling me to freestyle my first rap. I could barely remember the words but Dequan played the beat and I just went off of the dome. It felt so easy and it was honestly one of my favorite beats. To end the show I wanted to make it personal and brought out the only person that loved Houston more than me, Drake. We had both worked on this song called 713 but never combined them but we worked on the stage. It was amazing how we flowed and dude was so pumped on some stuff that I was worried.

After the show I had my whole family rollng with me and they took pics with all the celebs. My niece Tati was a Rihanna fan and Rihanna was surprised by how much of a fashion sense that she had. Luckily the only person that I had my eyes on was Nadya and she was vibing with my crew. They had all met her and I was ready to hit the clubs up. We were going to some strip club for the after-party and with so many ballers in tow I knew that Chia couldn't be far behind.
