The Exception

Later that night after I had taken the kids back home I was waiting on Nadya to come to the hotel. She had to make some final plans before leaving Houston but she would be on the road with us and I had a major conversation to make with her. 

When she finally arrived I let her get settled and then we went to sit on the patio. The sun had long set but it was nice seeing the beach and a pretty look at the stars.

Nadya, "Babe what's going on? You've been ansty since I came through"

Me, "Look I need to talk to you about something and it may shock you because it's not something that I would normally do"

Nadya. "Okay, just be straight-forward with me"

Me,"Okay, so Mark came to speak with me earlier and he said that VH1 is interested in doing a show with me. He already signed me up for a pilot but that's it"

Nadya, "Okay, so what's the problem?"

Me, "Well I would have to show the whole family and I'm not sure how you or your family would feel about that"

Nadya, "So they want to do a reality show on the whole family, like a TI and Tiny type of thing?"

Me, "Yeah, I guess, but how do you feel about it? I don't want to rush into anything and then there would be problems"

Nadya, "Well I have no idea, you kind of just bum rushed me with this and it doesn't even sound like something that you would ever do"

Me. "I know but mad people have been telling me that I'm too private. I need the world to see that I'm human and this may help"

Nadya, "So who would be on this show? Like all of the family or what?"

Me, "If we were being honest then it would be all of the family but they are coming to shoot when we reach New York and that's kind of close to when Brandon and Travis are supposed to be coming out. I don't know if they are going to be cool with that and I know that Kia isn't going to want to be on camera like that. If maa is  willig to do it then I would want to have her on and of course your family, does that sound reasonable?"

Nadya, "Yeah I guess, but I don't want any of the little kids on here. For the pilot why don't we just talk to the producers and see what they want, like it could be problematic with the little kids"

Me. "The whole thing is that if we don't have them on in the beginning then it would be hard to bring them on later in the show. I don't want to force anyone on so like we would have to speak with your family before New York and just bring up the idea"

Nadya, "So say they shoot a quick pilot and want to do more, would you let them? Like when would they be shooting?"

Me, "I guess they would come wiht us while we tour Europe and then maybe if we make it back to Houston. We also have to see what the fans want"

Nadya, "Damn boy, I know that we were going official and all that but a reality show is a huge step. I got mad people that don't want to see me do good and I'm sure that you have a list like that too. This is just so all over the place right now"

Me, "Okay, why don't we call a family meeting in like North Carolina and tell everyone and just vote on it. That's fair and whatever the final decision is, is what we are going to go with"

Nadya, "So how much of our relationship are we going to show on the show? Like is it full on lovey-dovey or somewhat restricted?"

Me, "I have no idea. Why don't we just have some producers come through and we  tell them what we are comfortable with. Like I don't want to have the kids lament their whole lives on the show, cause they actually have their own lives to live"

Nadya. "Boy you should see them on Instagram. I follow all of them and some of the pictures are just outrageous but it's all fun. They're teens and they want to show the world what they have"

Me, "I know but there are people that see what they have and then want to come after them. Like that's not okay nor does it make me feel any better"

Nadya, "Listen they aren't average kids and you don't have to raise them any way because of that, like you just teach them to love and care for each other and there won't be any problems"

Me, "Well I told the girls about the show and they're demanding that they head to the salon like 200 times before we reach New York. Would you mind just talking to them and seeing what's going on? You know that how girls are,they don't want to tell me all the deets on what's going on in their life even though I'm always open with them"

Nadya, "J come on. They are teenage girsl and while you can be as open as you want they are always going to opt for that female perspective. I can talk to them but Tati is a tough cookie"

Me, "I have them comign for a sound check tomorrow, so can you make sure that they actually get up"

Nadya, "I'm coming too, You always wanna have us come out and then expect us to be in the background. That's not how I work, boo"

Me. "I know that but there is actual work that goes on. I can't hang with you guys too much but we can do lunch after the show"

Nadya, "Okay, and remember that I brought Zion with me. Are you going to make time for him?"

Me, "Of course. I can finally have someone that's willing to go to Disney World with me, like I otold the kids to come with me to Universal Studios and they are all like, 'No, I wanna go shopping or I wanna go to a Heat game"

Nadya, "damn you need to take me to the both and what about the beach? Like I ain't tryna stay up in no hotel for the whole time"

Me, "You know what. I try so much for everyone and they just do crazy. Like we all need to go to Disney World and I know that Zion would love it"

Nadya, "Listen you are more excited about this than I am. Listen he' sleeping, but tell him tomorrow so he can prepare"

Me, "I gotta prepare myself. This is gonna be lit"
