We sat at the dining table waiting for dad to show up from work, my mother sat next to Brielle, she was a pretty woman, in her late-thirties.
Her black hair was tied back into a bun and she was still wearing her dress, mother always dresses nice even through she works in real estate.
My father however, is a college professor at Oklahoma State University but, he gets paid good money for teaching students about science."How was work today mom?" I asked as I put a piece of meat on to my plate.
"It was long," my mother said, "and your father will come home late."
"Did he say anything about when he will be home?" Brielle asked as she dipped her fork into her mashed potatoes.
Mother looked at her, "he didn't say."
I was looking down at my food not saying a word, "Tranessa?" Mother asked, "are you okay? You don't look so good?"
I nodded my head, "yeah mom, I'm fine."
I just couldn't get that thing out of my head, it looked so human and so, ghostly.
I don't know but, it's creeping me out.
"Excuse me," I got up from my chair and without saying anything else, I went upstairs and into my room.
I closed the door behind me and ran over to my bed.
I plopped down on it and thought about what I saw last nightThe thin, sickly figure staring at me just inches between my face, I wanted to scream but, I thought of something, what if I could find this ghostly thing and see what it wants with me?
Well, everyone is curious about something right?I sat up in my bed and looked out of my window, if I could find it then, it must be somewhere near here. I climbed out of bed, walked over to my window and opened it.
The moonlight illuminated the ground as I scanned my backyard, I didn't see it anywhere, maybe it came out around midnight?
"Tranessa, what are you doing?" Brielle's voice startled me, I turned around sharply to see my sister standing outside the door with her hands in her pockets.
"Nothing," I said to her, "just looking at something outside."
"Looking at what?" Brielle smirked at me.
"As I said, nothing."
Brielle walked into the room and sat down on her bed, "you found nothing out there?"
I nodded, "just the moon, nothing special."
"Huh," she crossed her arms, "well, mother just wanted to know why you ran out on her."
"What? I didn't run out on her."
"Well, you did and she got worried that something might be wrong with you."
I huffed and didn't say anything else, I just walked over to my bed and sat down.
I'll find it tomorrow, or maybe it'll never come back which, that is what I wish.
