Night Visions

Chapter 21

"You saw him do it?" Micah gasped as I told him everything that happened in the room, "she was innocent and he j-just killed her."
I lowered my head as I nodded, "I couldn't believe it either Micah, I didn't know why, he just did it."
Micah looked down at the floor and sighed.
Suddenly, we both heard the sound of nurses screaming, Micah shot his head up to see what was going on.
About ten or so nurses sprinting out of the hallway I just walked out of. They were scattered everywhere as the chaos grew, "what's happening?" Micah shouted through the screaming crowd of panicked nurses, "what's going on?"

"I don't know?" I told him as we heard an ear-slitting roar coming from the hallway.
Micah looked at me, his eyes were filled with nothing but fear, "what was that?"

Just then, a huge bolt of lightning shot out and hits one of the chairs, sparking it.
I watched as the flames grew and swallowed up the chair and spreading.
My heart fell to my stomach as another bolt of lightning shot another chair, making it fly up in the air and catch on fire.

Micah grabbed me by the arm, we both bolted for the doors.

Micah leads me outside of the hospital, I saw about four nurses injured as they sat on towels, one had a bandage wrapped around her left eye, I walked over and sat down next to her.
She looks at me and starts crying, "it was the most horrible thing I have ever seen," she weeps, "we all saw it, his own skin was ripping away from his body-" she paused as she wipes the tears away from her eye, "it was not human, it looked at me a-and it growled at me, only at me, I was about to run outta there, it grabbed me by the arm and it clawed me in the eye."

I placed a hand against her back and messaged it, "it's okay, your safe now."
The women hugged me as she weeps on my shoulder, "it's okay."
Micah ran over to me, "Tranessa he's coming, we need to get these nurses to a nearby shelter."
I looked up at him, "tell them to go now!"
Micah nodded his head and takes off running to a small group of nurses.
"Do you know where the nearest shelter is?" I asked the women as I helped her up to her feet, the women pointed across the street, there set a six-story hotel.

I shouted to Micah to get the nurses across the street, he did as he was told.
Just then, I turned around sharply to see the doors of the hospital burst open from a lightning bolt. I backed away slowly as Jack stopped on the first step of the stairs, he snarled when he saw me.

I turned back around and took off in a full sprint to the hotel, he roared and starts to chase me.
My legs burned from underneath me and my lungs felt like they were about to give out any second, I looked back over my shoulder to see Jack on all fours and growling, he was getting closer to me.
Micah was holding the doors open for me as I got a few inches away from him, "come on Tranessa!" He screamed, "get here before he does!"
My heart was beating faster as I ran past him. Micah closed and locked the doors after I ran inside.

The sounds of scratching and growling made the nurses jump out of they're seats, I shot a look to them, terror filled every ince of my body as Jack tried his best to bust down the door.

"What do we do now?" I asked Micah, "we don't know how long he'll stay here."
"We just wait until he leaves," he replied, "but for now, we need to care for the injured."
He's right about that, we need to go ahead and wait this out.
Micah walked over to the now, calm nurses and sat with them on the floor, I stood there by the front desk thinking about what happened in that room a moment ago.
The smell of smoke filled my nose again as the fire across the street spends, I walked over to a window and glared outside.
I saw people getting out of they're cars with buckets and hoses in hand, I watched as they contained most of the fire with only those two things.

Silence filled the room, it was finally peaceful with no sounds of growling or clawing at the door.
Micah stood next to me, his blue eyes were peeking out of the window.
"At least, nobody was seriously hurt," he said to me.
I glanced at him and smiled, "I want to thank you for what you did back there, I thought we were all going to die."
"Your welcome," he said, still glaring out the window, "I've seen you last night when that rich man's house got burned down."
My eyes suddenly went wide, "you have?"
Micah looked at me and nodded his head, "yes, you were with those Kennedy girls, I was the one ordering those people to save what was left of that mansion."

"That was you?" I asked, surprised, "you were the one ordering those people?"
Micah nodded his head again, "yes."

I nodded my head as if I believed him, which I did. I walked away from the window and took a seat on the greenish-colored sofa as the image of my family filled my head.

I miss them so much, I have to get out of here.
