Chapter 25

"How did you find me here?" I asked, "and how did you know that I was gone?"
Jack laughed hollowly, "is was easy actually," he said, "I just followed your scent here."
I blinked twice at him, suddenly stunned.
He can smell me from blocks away, I just couldn't believe that he followed me here.

"Joe Jr was worried about you and he wanted to know where you ran off to," Jack walked over to me while Lem stayed a good distance away from us, "he sent me and Lem out here to find you."
"I see," I said sternly, "well...I was just going shopping, so you can go ahead and tell him that."

Jack didn't say another word to me, he just lowered his head as his face turned red with embarrassment.
"Why did you yell at him?" The women at the counter spoke, I shot her an angry glare, and that was her cue to keep her mouth shut.
"I'm sorry," Jack said quietly, "I didn't mean to-"
He's words where cut off by his screams of pain, I watched him fall to his knees, holding his stomach.
Lem gasped and ran away, the women at the counter gave out a high-pitched scream and hid underneath the counter.
My face turned white in disgust as I watched Jacks' skin rip away from his body, I backed away a few steps until the palm of my hand hit the wooden top of the counter, I slipped underneath where the young woman hid.

"What's going on?" The women yelled over Jacks' ear splitting growls.
"Just stay calm," I told her calmly, "just talk to me and it will all go away, what's your name?"
The young woman looked up at me with tears flowing down her red cheeks, "Ally," she sniffed.
"Okay Ally," I placed both hands on her shoulders and held on to them tightly, "now all you have to do is be quite okay, if you do that he won't find you."

Ally nodded her head.

Jack roared and it scared the girl even more, she was now crying on my shoulder as I held her in my arms.

What do I do? I thought, if Jack finds out that this young woman is a vampire, he'll have her killed and there is nothing I can do about that.

After Jack transformed into his monster form, I peeked out the tiny hole that Ally made with a clawed finger to see him rummaging through some dresses, the ones that didn't satisfy him, he threw on to the floor.
"Why is he messing with those?" Ally asked me, "those are new dresses, why is he..."
I shushed her as Jack walked up to the counter. His low, curious growls made Ally weep even more.

We heard Jack push some stuff off the counter, pens and paper fell on to the floor, and then, one sniff and silence came.
We both stayed quite as a mouse as Jacks' thin, cloudy legs were in arms length in the opening in front of us, Ally grabbed hold of my arm and clenched it tightly as fear ran through  her glowing blue eyes.
My hands started to shake as the thought of us getting out of here alive filled my head, my stomach tightened as Jack threw something under the counter, I jumped as the thing hit the left side of my face, I held my cheek as pain was beginning to fill my body.
"What was that?" Ally asked, concerned, "are you alright?"
I pulled my hand away slowly to see blood covering most of my palm, I looked over at Ally who was now deeply interested in the blood which meant, I should get the heck out of here before she bites me.

Ally hissed as I crawled backwards out from underneath the counter, as I was about to get up she grabbed my leg and I fell on to the floor, head first.
I tried to scream but she got on top of me, pinning me to the floor with a hand over my mouth, it was no use now.
She turned me over until I was now laying on my back, her hand still covered my mouth, silencing my useless screams.

"I knew it," Ally hissed into my face, "you are a human and you try to help me," she laughed hollowly, "how absurd, humans don't last long when they are around me."
She slowly pulls her hand away from my mouth as I started to give out ragged breaths, "why are you doing this?"

"Good question," Ally laughed as she pulls her entire body away from me, "I just do this for fun child you see, I wasn't really afraid of that thing they call a monster, I don't even know what it is myself but, I see that it likes you, I can see it in those turquoise eyes of yours.

And how dose this freakshow know about me and Jack? Dose she not know that we are just friends?
I didn't say anything when I got up to my feet.

"I bet you don't know this but..." Ally walked around the counter, tracing a clawed finger over the wood, "Jack Kennedy is my fiancee, did you know that?"
My eyes went wide when I heard that, there ain't no freaking way Jack was going to marry this-this psycho.

"So he's going to marry you?" All I could do was let the jealousy ball up in my gut, I want to fight her now, "prove it."
She's was lying to me, I didn't see no engagement ring on her finger, ha.
And so I said nothing to her.

Ally hissed at me again and this time, she lunged for me I jumped aside when her face planted into the wall, I quickly shot up to my feet when she recovered. She stares me down, she tries to lung for me again but, it was so fast, I watched as a huge white paw pins the women to the ground.
I tripped on my own feet as I saw the humongous white wolf clasped his massive jaws around the women's throat, she was dead before she could even scream.

The wolf pulls away from the dead vampire and looks at me, I couldn't help but notice that...he was grinning at me, I got to my feet as the furry beast walked up to me.
"Thank you Joseph," I breathed as the wolf whined, "you saved my life, she was going to kill me."

He was smiling at me now as he shifted into his human form.
Joe Jrs' shirt was ripped as it showed off his broad chest, I didn't know that I was staring until he caught me.
"I'm glad that you are okay," he said, "if I wasn't here to save you, she would've had her fangs deep into your neck."

I lowered my head as Joe Jr wrapped his arms around me in a warm embrace, my head now rested on his chest as he lead me out the door.
We walked a few blocks until we reached the apartment complexe, I pulled my head away from Joe Jrs' chest as he walked me inside. "Tranessa?" Micah quickly shot up to his feet from his spot on the sofa, "oh gosh, what happened to you?"
Just then, Jack ran out of the kitchen holding a apple in his hand, as you have not noticed, I don't want to talk to him right now.
I didn't dare look to his direction when I ran into my room and slammed the door behind me, I plopped down on my bed and started to cry.

And a few moments later, I fell into a deep sleep.
