I woke up this morning to the sound of music coming from a radio right next to the bed and the songs were so...familiar to me.
I listened closely to one of the songs and noticed that they were not from this world at all.
The song I was listening to now was a song by One Republic, I just couldn't believe it.

Someone must of went to my time period and stole one of my One Republic C.Ds from my case and brought them back here without me even noticing, and so I climbed out of bed and turned off the radio because Micah was still asleep.

I went into the kitchen to find Jack digging in the refrigerator again which meant that, he was in his monster form.

I stood my ground as the beast straightened himself, I bet he didn't find anything that satisfied him in there.
Jack glanced at me, his low, viscous growl made me want to scream and run out of the kitchen but instead, I just stood there as my stomach started to tighten sickly.

"You almost killed him," I said as he walked over to me, his feet didn't even touch the ground and no lightning was shooting out of him, which, that never happens when he's around me, "you almost killed Micah."
I was waiting for him to answer, but instead he grabbed my hand and interlaced his fingers.

This was something I've never felt before, his dark clouded hand felt soft and fluffy as if a cloud just floated into the kitchen and touched me on the cheek but, he was that cloud, actually.

"I didn't mean to," he suddenly whispers into my left ear, "it's the monster that wanted to hurt him, not me." He pulls his head away.
"What are you talking about?" I asked, "your still in there, are you?"

Jack nodded his head, "I'm still here."

How was he still in there? He's controlling that beast and he's doing a really great job at it.
"Your controlling it," I said, suddenly stunned, "your controlling that beast."

"I am," Jack replied, tightening his hand around mine.

"You really like me?" I had to ask, stupid as it is, I just had to ask him. I wanted his response in his own words about what he feels about me.
"I do," he said, "I do love you."
And then he shifted into his human form.

We both walked out of the kitchen and into the living room where I found Micah and Lem playing cards, I left Jack with Joe Jr and walked over to them, I sat down next to Micah at the coffee table in front of the sofa.
Lem was shuffling the cards and Micah was watching him with cold, unblinking eyes like if he was ready to win whatever game this was.

"Are you guys going to play anything?" I said.
Micah looks at me and nods his head, "we are," he replied as he looks forward at Lem again, "I'm waiting for this man to get finished shuffling them cards."
I could tell by his voice that he was getting impatient and was ready to explode at any moment.
"Oh quit your gripping Micah," Lem sets the cards down on the table, Micah gave out a relieved sigh and crossed his hands on his lap.
"About time," he said, "I thought I was going to leave you and let you play by yourself."
"Funny," Lem rolled his eyes, "you can leave whenever you want too, I'll just let Tranessa play with me if she don't mind."

I cross my arms and shrugged, "no, I don't mind at all."

Lem bit down hard on his bottom lip until he tasted blood, and then his face went red as if he was blushing, "you know you can go ahead and say it, right?" I said, lifting up my chin, "you know what my answer will be."

"It's going to be a no," Lem lowered his head in sadness, "isn't it?"
I had no answer to that question, and so I had to say something to him, I didn't want to hurt his feelings, I didn't want him to think of me as a cold-hearted person. "Well...?" I sighed, "lets just say that I like you as a friend and lets just leave it at that."
Lem looked up at me and a huge grin stretched across his gums, "I can live with that."

I nodded my head once and stood up to my feet, "wait? Where are you going?" Micah glanced up at me and tilted his head to the side, "aren't you going to join us?"
"Maybe later," I said and walked away, leaving them to start their little card game.

I grabbed Joe Jrs' jacket that layed on the edge of the sofas arm and put it on, I walked over to the front door, I looked over my shoulder to see Joe Jr reading a book on the bed and Jack was laying on the floor for some odd reason.
And that was my cue to leave, I slipped out and closed the door behind me without anybody noticing.
I ran down the steps until my feet hit the sidewalk, I looked around to see people driving around in cars and chatting next to a post office just across the street, I smiled as a warm breeze kissed my face.

I started walking down the sidewalk with my hands inside the pockets of the jacket. I just had to find that portal but, the only problem is that there was no full moon tonight, not until next week.

But, I just couldn't give up hope now, if Jack could transform into a beast in broad daylight then, I bet a portal can do the exact same thing, and all I have to do is find it and see what it does.
I kept my head low as I continued walking in silence, most of the people that walked past me stopped and stared but, I just ignored them.

I didn't realize how crowded this city was, it was too real to see so many people walking the streets but, most of the people that walked past me looked mortal to me.
I stepped inside a clothing store just a couple of blocks away from the apartment, a young blonde haired women at the counter looked up from her newspaper and smiled, showing me her pearly white fangs which made me take a few steps back.

"Can I help you with something?" She asked me kindly.

I shook my head and told her, "no, I'm just here to look around."
"Oh, well...are you interested in anything?"
I looked around, but I didn't find anything that satisfied me.
"Um?" I lowered my head, "what do you like here that interest you?"
I looked up to find the women giving me a strange look, it made me want to slap her so hard across her face and I don't care if I get kicked out.
"Well?" She bit her lip, "there is a-"
She was cut off by a harsh voice that startled me, I turned around sharply to see Jack standing at the doorway with Lem behind him, "well there you are," Jack walked inside the store, Lem followed him, "I was looking all over for you."

I just stared at him as he waited for me to say something.
