A New Threat (Kid Icarus Fan Fic)

4. In the Castle of Ice

As soon as I jumped off the ledge of Skyworld, someone granted me the Power of Flight. I was heading in the direction of the North Mountain. But I meant to go to the Southern Beach. My wings were green. It was Viridi controlling my flight path.

"That's right! I knew you were eavesdropping and I saw how angry you got when Palutena forced you to tell us about your brother. I knew you wouldn't just sit this one out. So you're going to see the Ice Queen." she said.

"But why? Pittoo is going to see the Lady of the Shores." I replied.

"Because Apollo told you to go see the Ice Queen first. And Palutena changed her plans, she knows you left. Her and Violet are arguing about it right now. Anyway, Pittoo's behind you. Seeing the Lady of the Shores before the Ice Queen is a good way to get yourself killed." she said.

"I'll never make it to the North Mountain in time." I said.

"You go to the Downworld all the time. It's not much farther from there. So you should be able to make it to the Ice Queen's Castle in five minutes." she said.

"How'd you know I was eavesdropping." I asked.

"I'm a goddess, Pit. I know everything about my surroundings." she replied.

An arrow whizzed by me. I turned around. Pittoo was following me. His wings were glowing light blue. Lady Palutena was controlling his flight path. I looked forward. It was freezing. In front of me was a beautiful castle made of ice. Viridi dropped me off outside the door. Pittoo landed beside me. He looked mad, but I didn't care. I knocked on the door and it opened. We walked inside.

"Hello Pit." a girl said. "Hello Dark Pit. Hello to you to Palutena and Viridi." We turned to the throne made of ice. On it sat a girl about 16. She had white-blond hair and icy blue eyes. She wore a dress made of snow and ice. She had wings that were blue and looked like they were made of ice.

"I am the Ice Queen. Welcome to my domain." she said. She looked awful familiar. She sounded awful familiar. Then I knew why.

"Minka." I said. The bartender said Minka had fled to the North Mountain. Also Samuel doubted Minka was dead. She looked off guard.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about." she said.

"Yes you do. You're my older sister, Minka." I said. "Aren't you?" She started to walk away. "Don't turn away from me! I deserve answers on why you've been hiding." She sighed.

"Fine. I'm Minka. I've been hiding to protect you, Pit." she said. "You're not safe around me. My powers could kill you. They almost did."

"Powers?" I asked.

"Over ice and snow. I was born with this curse. You need to leave now." she said. She started upstairs. I followed. Pittoo tried to hold me back, but failed. Lady Palutena and Viridi said something, but I ignored them.

"Minka, please. Let's just talk." I begged.

"Go away. You'll only make matters worse." she said. "Can't you see? I'm a danger to everyone. I plunged the surrounding area into an eternal freeze. I nearly killed you."

"But I can take care of myself Minka! I'm not a child anymore!" I yelled. "I'm not afraid. Please. I need your help. Samuel's going to destroy the world. You have-"

"ENOUGH!" she yelled. She waved her hand. Ice shot out of it. A beam of ice hit me. I fell down. Minka stared at her hand in shock.

"You have to leave. Viridi, Palutena, take them both away." she said. Viridi extracted me and Lady Palutena extracted Pittoo.

Confession time! I may have based Minka a.k.a. the Ice Queen a.k.a. Pit's sister, off of Elsa from Frozen. I got the name Minka from Jodi Picoult's The Storyteller.
