8. The Great Escape

I switched it up on ya, didn't I? Anyway before I begin, I'd like to ask for suggestions on what to read on this site. I mean I've read so much One Direction, the site thinks I'm a One Direction fan, and I'm not. I actually hate them. But my friends wrote the One Direction stories I read, so I promised I'd read them and they're actually really good.  So read My Irish Angel by: allybabe6, Best Year Ever (Boy X Boy)  by: OhHeyGirlHey, and Irresistible You by: BriannaMW. I know they're One Direction fan fictions, but they are actually really good. Anyway, Disclaimer! Nintendo owns the Kid Icarus characters and I own Violet, Minka, Margret, and Samuel. P.S. This chapter may or may not have profanity in it. I can't decide right now.

I woke up in some kind of dungeon. There were chains on my wrists. They were made of darkness. I could tell. There was a fire crackling near by. Minka, Margret, and Lady Palutena were in chains of darkness too. But where was Pittoo? Minka was trying to freeze her chains, but it wasn't working.

"Damn it! It's not working!" Minka cried. "Oh Pit, you're awake, finally. If I can get free, I might be able to find away to unthaw your heart. But this damn darkness is able to repel my ice."

"Hurry, Minka!" Margret said. "He's been freezing faster since he got here."

"I'm trying! I'm trying!" Minka cried. "But Samuel used his powers of darkness to repel our powers. I fear he used True Darkness to create them. If he did, only True Light can break the chains of darkness. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who possess True Light."

"Where's Pittoo?" I asked.

"We don't know." Lady Palutena said. "Samuel drug him off shortly after you arrived. I fear he's in terrible danger."

The air grew colder and colder. I was freezing fast. Soon my heart would be ice. Pittoo was in danger. I had to rescue him. He was my friend. The chains of darkness were burning my skin. I needed to break these chains. Minka, Margret, and Lady Palutena were staring at me in shock. I looked down at my wrists. The chains were glowing golden. They broke.

"How'd you do that?" Margret demanded.

"I don't know." I said.

"I think I know why Samuel's tried to kill Pit in the past and why he kidnapped him, along with us." Minka said. "Come on, free us."

I stumbled over. I was still weak, due to the fact my heart's still freezing. I freed them and collapsed. Whatever I did sapped my strength. Minka and Margret helped me to the fire. Minka pulled something out of her pockets. Gloves. She slid them on.

"Why?" I asked.

"'Why' what?" Minka replied.

"Why does Samuel want me dead?" I asked.

"Because you're a threat to him." she replied. "We all are."

"Why?" I asked.

"Y is the letter between X and Z." she said.

"I know that." I snapped. She smiled.

"I used to do that to you all the time." Minka said. "Your favorite thing to do was ask 'Why?' all day. So I started to tell you that. You got mad every time. You think you're strong enough to get up." I nodded. "I can break the lock on the door by freezing it, but we'll be leaving the fire. Margret will try to warm you as much as possible. Margret and Palutena will be supporting you, since I need to use my ice to freeze and break things. We're going to find Dark Pit and free him. Until then, I'll be fighting. Okay?"

"Okay." I agreed. Margret wrapped several blankets around my shoulders, while Minka worked on the lock. Lady Palutena and Margret grabbed me as Minka broke the lock. She threw open the door and looked outside. She gestured for us to come.

We traveled down several corridors until we came to a room with a tank in it. Pittoo was in the tank trying to escape. It was quickly filling with water. Minka pointed her hand at the glass, until it started to crack.  The glass shattered and Pittoo stepped out. Minka pulled a silver bow out of thin air and handed it to him.

"Cover the back. Palutena, get ready to create that portal." Minka ordered. We were going down another corridor when alarms went off.

"They know we've escaped!" Margret whispered.

Some kind of monsters that I didn't know, came running into the corridor. Pittoo shot several of them down. Minka froze them.

"Get Pit out of here!" Minka cried. I opened my mouth to say something. She turned to me. "Don't worry about me. Dark Pit go with them."

A monster went to attack her. She turned around. There was obvious terror on her face. She tried and failed to freeze it. I broke away from Margret and Lady Palutena and pushed Minka out of the way. She feel to the ground and I collapsed. A blizzard picked up. Minka was crying and screaming my name. My heart was the coldest it's ever been. Minka brushed my hair away from my forehead.

She kissed my forehead. I started to not care about anything. Suddenly I felt warmth grow in my chest. Minka's tears dripped onto my face. She opened her eyes and gasped.
