I got on the Lightning Chariot and set off towards the west. Creatures of darkness were attacking me. The father west I went, the more attacked me. I knew they were Samuel's creations, now that he didn't have the Underworld working for him. I felt myself getting weaker the farther west I got. Minka said the darkness was weakening me.
I kept shooting the creatures of darkness. Violet said they had come from the west and were spreading all over the world. The stronger Samuel got, she said, the harder the creatures were to kill. I hadn't seen her since I visited my parents. I was worried about her. To tell the truth, I was in love with her. She was my best friend in the whole wide world.
Finally I came to a palace of darkness. I defeated the guards. It was the same palace Samuel held Lady Palutena, Minka, Margret, Pittoo, and I. I made my way down the hallways. I used a magical string that Lady Palutena had given me to navigate the maze.
I walked into a room. It was a jail. Behind the bars stood Violet. She looked scared. Her hair was tangled with branches sticking out of it. There was dried mud and blood on her skin. Her eyes were wide with fear. She looked shocked to see me.
"Pit!" she cried. "Thank goodness you're here!"
"What happened?" I asked.
"I was trying to help protect the humans against the dark forces and Samuel came and chased me. He caught me and imprisoned me here." she said.
I pulled out my knife and started to pick the lock. I used my powers and broke the chains of darkness around her wrists and ankles. I started to treat her wounds with what little supplies were available. I let her climb on my back. She grabbed my wings.
"Ouch!" I said. "Watch the wings."
"Sorry!" she said.
I exited the room. We made our way to the top of the castle. We stood on the roof of the palace. It was weird that there was no trace of Samuel. I heard someone laughing behind me. I turned around. There was Samuel. I drew my bow and Violet drew her dagger.
