15. Going Home

Minka and I were in the meeting room. Why weren't we ready to face Samuel? What were we missing? Lady Palutena, Viridi, and Hades had been discussing something when Minka and I had come in. Now Lady Palutena was pacing. Violet, Pittoo, and Margret came in.

"I don't understand." I said. "We have the nymphs, Olympians, and Downworlders as allies. What more do we need?"

"Your parents." Lady Palutena said.

"My-my parents?" I asked.

"Yes, your parents." she said.

"But, I haven't seen them in 30 years." I pointed out.

"Yes. So now's the perfect time to go see them and Violet will be going with you." Lady Palutena said. "You'll tell them what you are doing and ask for their blessing."

Violet and I stood outside my parents' house. I was nervous. What would the say? Would they welcome me home or order me to go away? Did they miss me? Were they angry? I was full of questions. How do I explain the whole Samuel situation as delicately as possible?

"Do you want me to knock?" Violet asked.

I shook my head. I took a deep breath and slowly raised my hand. Finally I knocked on the door. My mother answered. Now my mother is a short, stern yet kind woman. She has blue eyes and brown hair she normally wears in a bun. She loves all her children equally.

"Pit!" she cried. She wrapped her arms around me. "Oh Henry! Come quick!" My father came running to the door. He is medium height, strict, but has a sense of humor. He has blond hair and green eyes.

"What is it, Esmeralda?" he asked. He saw me. "Pit, my son! Is it really you?"

"In the flesh." I said.

"Well boy, don't just stand there. Come in and bring your friend." my mother ordered.

"Is this your girlfriend?" my father asked. "My! She's lovely!"

"Why thank you, sir." Violet said. "But Pit and I aren't dating. Actually we came here to discuss a grave matter."

"What do you mean?" my mother asked.

"It's about Samuel." I said. "He-he's evil. He pushed Margret and Minka. He nearly turned me into a fallen angel. He's planning on destroying the world."

"I knew it!" my father said. "Esmeralda, I told you we should have cracked down on that boy and sent him away! We should have sent him away when Minka drug me down to the basement to find him tearing a live rabbit limb from limb!"

My mother was crying. My father was going on and on about how he knew Samuel was a bad seed. I interrupted.

"In order to fight him," I said. "I need your permission to do what ever I have to do to stop him."

"Do what ever you must." my father said. "If you must kill him, then so be it." We turned to my mother.

"At least promise me that killing him will be the last resort." she said.

"I promise, Mama." I said.

"Then you have my blessing as well." she said. She kissed my forehead. "Good luck, my baby. I love you."

"I love you too, Mama." I said. "Goodbye Mama. Goodbye Papa."

"It was a pleasure to meet you sir. Madam." Violet said.

We walked out the door. Lady Palutena extracted us to Skyworld.
