Chapter 35: A Murderous Date
Carter's P.O.V
"So Carter, I have an idea." Jason smirked.
"I already don't like the sound of this. You're up to something, I can tell by the tone in your voice." I laughed, and he shrugged. "It's nothing bad, I promise."
"I seriously doubt that, Jason." I giggled, and he walked towards me. The bed let out a creak as Jason sat right down on it. "Babe, I actually want to take you out tonight. It's been awhile, and we are really far away from the gang, and Johnson." He stated. "Well, that sounds like fun." I murmured.
"Well then, what're you waiting for? Let's go!" He ushered. He grabbed my hand. He basically pulled me out of the hotel room, and I hopped onto his back. Our faces were covered with our Ray Bans, and our hoods sat on the top of our heads. I've gotten used to always being in disguise. I don't mind it at all actually.
We trotted down the hallway as I bounced on his back. I placed my lips against his ear as I pulled his hoodie back. "We're going to have so much fun tonight." I whispered seductively in his ear. "Oh, really?" He whispered back. I could tell that he had a big smirk on his face because he smirks all the time. "Mhm." I hummed into his ear. "What're we going to do then?"
I held back my laugh as I licked his ear, and bit it. "What the fuck!" He growled. I started to laugh, and I heard Justin mumble a few choice words. "Just kidding babe, we aren't going to do anything tonight, but if you want to you can massage my stinky feet." I giggled, and he groaned. "You're so annoying." He grumbled. "Ha, I know right, but you love me anyways."
Jason pressed the elevator's button, and then he started to press it repeatedly. Why must he be so impatient? "Jason, chill. You're going to break it." I grumbled. He rolled his eyes, "So, we can't really go out to dinner or anything, but we can go to that carnival thing."
"That sounds fun, I guess." I laughed. "You laugh way too much." He said, and I just nodded my head. The elevator doors opened at a slow pace, and Jason just let out a sigh. We got inside as the metal doors closed behind us. The elevator started to move, and I hopped off of Jason's back. "Let's just get out of here, and Jason you better not cause a ruckus or hurt anyone." I scolded. "Fine."
The elevator's doors finally opened, and I immediately grabbed Jason's hand. Jason is somewhat immature at times, and quite frankly I don't trust him. I see right through Jason, and I wouldn't be surprised if he randomly started shooting at the bellhop. He is very... unpredictable.
I led us out of the hotel, and we made our way towards the car. I let go of Jason's hands, and we got inside.
---
Jason nudged me, and I could feel the drool running down the side of my cheek. Ew. I rubbed my eyes, and let out a tiny yawn. "Oh my god, you are so cute. You look like a bunny." Jason laughed. "You are so weird. So are we at this carnival?" I asked, and he nodded. "I hope you like rides, but make sure you keep your glasses on, and keep your hood up."
We got out of the car, and I walked over to Jason's side. We linked hands, and we walked towards the entrance. There was a man with a long gray beard, and a red and white striped suit on. He looked like a ring master for a circus, to be honest. He had an annoyed look on his face as he handed our tickets to us. Jason pulled his wallet out of his pocket, and he handed the man a crisp twenty dollar bill. It's like Jason has a never ending supply of money.
The man nodded, and we walked past the gate. "Want to ride the rollercoaster?" Jason asked, and I nodded quickly. He pulled me towards the rollercoasters line, and we stood there for a while.
The man at the entrance of the rollercoaster stamped our hands, and let us in. We picked the front car, and I immediately buried my head into Jason's chest. "This is going to be crazy." I muttered. "Don't lose your glasses." Jason warned as he put his arm around my shoulder.
The rollercoaster started to move, and I let out a squeal. We started to go faster, and faster, and faster. We flipped upside down, and Jason screamed like a girl. We went down another hill, and then we did another flip. The rollercoaster started to go down a double-decker hill, and I bounced up into the air. Jason held me down so I wouldn't fly up any higher. I started to laugh hysterically. "O-Oh my god, Jason!" I laughed as I let out another scream. We went down one more hill, and then we finally pulled to a stop.
--- (Sorry for all the time skips)
It was about ten o' clock at night, and we were about ready to go. "Do you want some cotton candy before we leave?" He asked, and my eyes lit up like a child. I nodded. He grabbed my hand, and pulled me towards the stand. "One cotton candy, please." He muttered. The worker stood there with a bland look on his face. "Is there something wrong sir?" I asked, and the guy shook his head.
"Sorry, I just feel like there's somebody watching me. It's probably just my imagination." The guy laughed as he handed me my cotton candy. Jason rose one eyebrow, and he had a skeptical look on his face. "Let's go." I muttered, and Jason handed the guy a five dollar bill. "Keep the change." He muttered.
"Well, that was weird." I stated. "Yeah."
We started to walk out of the carnival, and everything was vacant. Jason and I were the only ones at the carnival. Everyone left at seven-thirty because it was probably the kid's bedtime. They were basically operating the whole place just for us, and it was nice to have some alone time with Jason. Without drama.
Jason laced our fingers as we walked towards his car. I heard a twig snap from behind us, and I turned my head backwards quickly. I saw nothing. "What was that?" I asked. "Probably just some deer." He muttered. I heard another snap, but this time Jason snapped his head around too. Nobody was there. "Okay, Jason. I'm getting kind of scared." I confessed. "Baby girl, there's nothing to worry about. We are far away from all of those imbeciles." Jason said. Something still didn't feel right.
"I am not an imbecile." A deep voice growled.
Jason and I turned around quickly to see a man standing there.
He had a gun pointed straight at Jason, and there was a mask covering his face. "I am your worst nightmare, Jason!" The man bellowed as he pulled the trigger. I screamed as Jason hunched over and fell down in pain. The man ran away as Jason fell to the ground.
"Jason, please stay with me!" I cried as I kneeled down beside him.
