DON'T LET ME GET ME
The screams in my mind, I keep them a secret,
They taunt and mock, the dark, I can see it,
Doctors say nothing's wrong, signs the bill of health,
Patients squirm in agony, sanity, comes after wealth.
-
Self help, books, documentaries,
Can't make me forget what it means to me,
To see the new "normal" as right,
Weakens my spirit, my resolve to fight.
-
You think I seek attention, put on a show,
Create a facade in which everyone knows
I'm fake, crying aloud for attention,
Oblivious to the fact that I'll make it my mission.
-
To sit back and have you fade into black,
I don't need your input, as a matter of fact,
Get back, your company's not welcome here,
I will not tolerate hate that's turned into fear.
-
My dear,I might be broken beyond repair,
Do you think your taunts could ever compare,
The pain I inflict all on my own,
To a dysfunctional heart, my very bones?
-
No time to focus on you yet,
Find someone else to screw with,
I turn to the sky as if it holds the key,
Screaming to the heavens "don't let me get me!"
