Foggy

I encrypt myself in a code that's hard to read,

And the ones who want to crack it I push away from me,

I can't keep hiding, deciding, what's best for you,

I can't keep acting like I know what to do.

-

But you,

The blessing in my life,

Always knows what to say,

How to make things right.

-

I keep everything inside until a pipe starts to leak,

I tremble from the constant facade that creaks,

The water gets higher and I can't swim,

Thus I drown in the sorrows I've locked within.

-

On a whim,

You reach out your hand to me,

Pull me out of the water,

So I can can breathe.

-

All because of you I believe in change,

I believe in what I once considered as strange,

People are going to stand by my side,

Pick me up to help me rise,

-

Those eyes,

That see closely into my heart,

I'll never take for granted,

I'll never be apart.

-

A mother, a friend, an beautiful angel,

My damaged soul you've come to cradle,

In your arms I feel so safe,

Like I can fly so close to grace.

-

Now I can face,

The foggy mist that's beginning to clear,

I can do anything,

As long as your near.

-

So here's a toast to someone dear,

I've known her for less than a year,

But I can't imagine life without her here,

To keep me sane, have her warmth, her lending ear.

****************

Baby doll, this barely describes what you mean to me. Thank you.
