MY BABY
Ten fingers and ten toes,
Beautiful eyes, a button nose.

A cooing yawn and soft cry,
Searching lips, wet nose to dry.

Wobbly legs and eager kicking,
Time needs to pause here, stop the ticking.

Temper tantrums and shouting,
Bottom lip jutting out, adorable pouting.

Off to school and make me worry,
Comes home, to the room you scurry.

No more family game night and movies,
A date awaits, I sit watching my little beauty.

Car keys and curfews,
Old stuffed animals, new perfumes.

Wedding bells and white dress,
Makes me feel older, the groom's impressed.

Baby toys and something new,
I now know I should hand to you.

You're older and such a fine lady,
But never forget, you're always my baby.
