Luke's eyes fly open. The sky stretches out in front of him, with a chorus of chirps and tweets wafting through the air. He sits up from a bed of grass and looks around. The park. He was back in the park.
"You're awake."
"Eve!"
"That's my name."
"Where am I?"
"The park."
"Okay, I know that. But... how did I get here?"
"You rode that cringy scooter down the road, duh."
"Ah! How do you know I have that?"
"Secret."
"Okay... what's a girl like you doing here- AHHH."
"Hm?"
"I just... assumed your... Don't kill me, please!"
"Don't worry, Luke. Now that the evil lord Xemu has been slain, I am freed of the chains that once bound me."
"What?"
"I'm not such an... activist."
"You don't get triggered anymore?"
"Sure."
"That's great! Now we can have normal conversations!"
"Yeah. With the social skills you've somehow gained recently, I'm sure that will be possible."
"Lily taught me them!"
"Lily? Oh, the demon."
"Yeah? Where are she and Adam? Lily! Adam! Come on out! I just killed Xemu with my Shia powers!"
"Luke... the thing is..."
"Huh?"
"Those two are little creatures. They can only survive inside a functioning human mind. When you entered your own mind to fight Xemu... they may have been lost in the process. I'm sorry."
