Lily’s POV:
Today’s the day. It’s the day I could possibly have sex with Ashton.
I know it makes me sound like a whore to say I want to have sex with him, but really its just a thing to ensure our relationship. I know I love him a fuckton, & I know I trust him more than anyone in the whole world. It’s just been forever it seems like since someone has made me feel as good &, quite frankly, as turned on as he does. & from my observances, he’s a virgin. So I want to make him feel good & give him the night of his life.
The house is a mess. I woke up late, & now I’m running around like a chicken without a head. Dorothy peed her cage last night, so I have to wash that out. There’s dog hair everywhere, & I mean everywhere. On the couch, on my clothes, on my bed even. Dog hair does not turn on your average 18 year old boy.
So here I am, hustling & bustling around, trying to make everything perfect, just 10 minutes before he’s supposed to arrive. I make my bed, make sure there’s condoms in my side table by my bed, wash my dog’s crate, make sure there’s enough food in the fridge since he is spending the night, & clean my room so it doesn’t look like Satan cursed it. Once everything’s done & somewhat perfect, it’s already 2:30. He said he’d get here just around then, so I sit on my couch & play on my phone a bit. I get lost in the bright screen & the texting keys, so when the doorbell rings, I don’t realize he’s about 10 minutes late. Opening the door, I prepare a smile. But all I get is a frowning Ashton.
“He- Ash what’s wrong?” I ask, thrown off a bit. He huffs, pushing past me & walking inside.
“N-nothing. Alice just got…. we had a little fight,” he mumbles before I can turn around to face him. When I do so, his back is to me. Bent over & running a hand through his hair, he looks quite distressed. I tiptoe behind him & squeeze his arms, lying my head against his back.
“Do you wanna talk about it babe?” I ask, but it comes out more like a whisper. I know how much this little girl means to him, so for them to get into a fight it must have been something serious.
Ashton huffs again, finally turning around to face me. His eyes are sad & there are lines furrowing deeply into his forehead. Looking down, he grabs my hands & entangles his fingers in mine. Playing around with them for a bit, he smiles somberly.
“Not really, no. Its done & over with. I’m here now & that’s all that matters.” he states, looking me in the eyes again. He gives me a smile, but I squint my eyes suspiciously at him. The sadness still glimmers in his hazel pupils, but I can tell he’s trying his hardest to mask it. Deciding to believe him, I smile back, & get on my tiptoes to peck his lips.
“Okay, whatever you say Irwin. You want some lunch or a snack? I just went to the store,” I offer. Nodding his head, he follows me into the kitchen. We grab some Dr Peppers & a few bags of Goldfish before going upstairs.
Stepping into my room, I grab my laptop out from under my bed. “Up for some Netflix?”
He chuckles, before sitting down on my bed with me. Ashton opens his arms & I fit perfectly in them. With laptop in hand, I type in the website. After much debating, we pick some random comedy neither of us has heard of. As the movie starts, I snuggle into his side. Curls tickle my temples as his fingertips glide over mine gently. The only noise heard is the crunching of Goldfish in our mouths & the bad puns being told by the actors in the film.
This is the moment. The moment you bore into your subconscious forever. That moment that sparks such a fire inside you that you can’t help but start the imaginary tape recorder & imprint it all into your brain. Its such a bliss, being here in this time. I always wonder what it’d be like if Ash & I never got paired up for that dreaded project. My mind knows I would have found some way to get to him, but it definitely would have been much later in the year, maybe in my life.
