You said bye quicker than you said hi
I know you can't stay
Hello my friend
I know you must go
But can't you just stay one more day
Now goodbye my friend
I hope life treats you well
I know you have to go
But I wish it wasn't so soon
I hope we meet again
Now we both walk alone
Down separate roads
And I can't help but wonder
Was it really for the best
I just can't rest
Because now your not by my side
And I don't know how I can move on
But some how
I know
It's for the best
I walk along the beach
Footprints in the sand
I hope they lead to you
They remind me of the times
We would laugh
Till we fell to the ground
Then laugh some more
We spent so much time together
And now every song I hear
Brings me to tears
As it reminds me of you
You left so soon
You forgot
That you would be missed
You said
Good bye my friend
I must go
But continue on
Without me
But each step I take
I feel farther from you
As my memory slips away
And every picture we took
Looks a little duller
And our laughter
Echoes in my head
And it sounds a little sadder
And soon you'll forget me
You will have moved on
Leaving me in the dust
All alone
But that's just how life goes
But is it really for the best
Because you said bye so fast
It was like I didn't even get the chance
To say hi
So this is me
Wondering how you been
Hoping life is treating you well
Wondering if we'll ever meet again
And if we did
Would you even remember me
Well I guess it's for the best
