My mother was Asian and African
American. She spoke Chinese. She had beautiful dimples and long straight raven hair with her almond eyes. My father was from Greece. He had curly brown hair and a beautiful jaw structure with red lips and thick eyelashes.

Dad was the Beta of the Moon Fall pack and Mum was his beautiful mate who he found in a neighboring pack. Then they mated and blah blah blah mum got pregnant with me, you know how that goes.

I looked mostly like mum but I had dad's curly hair and thick eyelashes with my mum's almond eyes, pink lips and dimples. I thought I was ugly, a freak, a nobody.

I was that quiet new girl who sat in the front corner of class with her nerdy glasses on paying attention scribbling notes quickly.

"Katalina hurry up and get ready for school!" Mum yelled. I pulled on my ripped up jeans I got from Hollister and an oversized hoodie. It was windy outside so I left my puffy curly hair down finishing off my plain look.

"I'm done mum!" I yelled flinging my book bag on my shoulder heading down. I skipped breakfast heading to school kissing mum goodbye. Dad must have been at work, I thought before walking to school.

I took out my galaxy sliding through songs and stopped at JB- Swap it Out. I walked with my music on shuffle. For once I felt peaceful but that quickly ended when I realized I arrived at school.

"Kat!" Angie hugged me tight.

"Angie!" I smiled at her. I loved her like a sister.

"I missed you hon." She giggled. Her blonde straight hair looked flawless matching her blue eyes. I wish I had her features. She was tall and slim while I stood at 5'3. Pretty short for a werewolf.

My insecurities ate me from the inside out and I hated this feeling. "Ni shi meilí de." mum would always tell me in Chinese. "You are beautiful." It meant, but it was hard to believe.

I quickly said my goodbyes to Angie making my way to class when I was shoved into the locker.

"Hey need watch where the fuck you are going." Prissy huffed with her little minions behind her. Perfect.

"S-sorry," I mumbled scrambling away. I heard laughter behind me making me quicken my pace to my first class.

"I hate my life." I groaned.

"Katalina will you like to share your presentation with the class?" Ms. Sterling said cheerily making everyone glare at me.

"No-no I'm fine." I shrank into my seat.

"Nonsense! You have the best presentation you have to come up." She kept pushing it so I got up, in front of a class that hated me.

Great.

My presentation was about genetic engineering/breeding/shuffling, creating new offspring from combining different species.
I explained to the whole class about my research making everyone even more pissed.

"Can the nerd sit down now?!" Prissy shrieked making the class roar with laughter. I quickly gathered my things going back to my seat slouching down waiting for the bell to ring.

It was last period and I had a free period. I was on my way to the library. I was typing away on my phone telling Angie that I will be staying back in the library so she can leave without me.

I turned the corner slamming into a brick. Wait, a brick? I looked up meeting the gaze of an Adonis, and at that moment his scent hit me. I froze and whispered.

"Mate." I stared into his brown eyes. I was happy I finally found him. I studied his features. It turned from shock to pure displeasure. But why?

"I-" I started but was cut off.

"Let's make this fast." He said, his cold stare still on me.

"Okay..." I looked down.

"What's your name?"

"Katalina Williams," I said in a hushed tone. He nodded then started speaking again.

"I Lucian Romero reject Katalina Williams as my mate." His light brown eyes stared in my hazel ones seriously. He looked at me with disgust and pure displeasure.

"And when I leave I hope your happy..." I whispered to him turning away running, my curls bouncing as the hot tears started to rapidly run down my cheeks. My heart ached as if I was being stabbed with no remorse.

I decided not to stick around and left the school. I chose walking the long way home. I heard footsteps behind me but ignored it picking up my pace.

"What is a beautiful girl doing out here crying?" I heard a voice.

"Cameron?" I smiled while crying more. He embraced me in a hug.

"Lina, why are you crying?" He asked worriedly.

"It's nothing much," I mumbled looking sad again so he chose to drop the topic.

"I'll ask later. Where is Angie?"

"I told her to go without me, I was going to the library but things happened so I had a change of plans," I whispered the last part feeling the pain of rejection again.

"Let me take you home." He looked at me worried. I didn't decline his offer hopping into his car with him speeding to my house.

When I got home Mum wasn't there and Dad was out at a pack meeting. I took a warm shower throwing on some PINK sweats and I decided to lay in bed.

I completed all of my homework so I laid and as time went by, my mind went to what happened earlier and I laid there crying my eyes out. I knew I was ugly but I thought my mate would have accepted me.

I decided I will keep the rejection thing to myself I thought slowly drifting off to sleep.
