Chapter 24

Kat's POV

I was walking in the woods when a pack of wolves was all growling ferociously at me. I don't think they recognized me due to my new scent and appearance.

One was about to pounce on me and I just stood there awaiting the heavy impact of the wolf but it never came. I slowly opened my eyes to see that the alpha walked up and nodded to me.

He recognized me. I smiled inwardly and nodded back. All of the other wolves bowed to me and I walked up to the alpha petting him.

They led me towards the packhouse and I followed silently.

They all got behind trees and shifted back into their human forms and walked inside.

I locked gazes with Lucian and for a second the world stopped. Everything stopped, and he gave me a weak smile before turning away. He looked pained almost like something was bothering him but I didn't want to pry into his business.

I entered the packhouse and it looked different. I guess a lot has changed since I left. I smiled inwardly, proud of the alpha that Lucian became.

"Follow me." Lucian's voice sliced through my thoughts.

"Uhh yea.," I said nodding quickly. So quick I'd probably give myself a headache.

We got into his office and he shut the door and locked it.

I looked around quietly observing the room and took a seat on the plush couch with the fluffy pillows.

The room was silent for a bit. I didn't know where to start with him. Its been so long.. So long since everything.

"Why?" His deep masculine voice broke the silence.

His question startled me a bit.

My shocked expression must have gotten to him more.

"Don't act shocked, Princess." He eyed me curiously.

"Why are you here?" He said, just throwing the question out there.

"To see you of course." I eyed him back equally, not in the least intimidated by him.

"Oh?" His eyebrows quirked. "Well, in that case, why don't you cut the act and spill Katalina." The way he said my name made shivers go up and down my spine.

I watched him and sighed.

"Stop being so hostile. If anything you should want to hear what I have to say. I know what I'm doing to you, and I'm here to fix it. I have a proposition, that's if you calm down and be civil of course ." I said slowly.

Now it was his turn for his face to be shocked. Wonderful.

"Have a seat will ya?" I said playfully. I have him where I wanted him from when he rejected me. Vulnerable. He needed me now and this was a game I was willing to play.

When I needed Lucian back then he didn't even come to my rescue. He was just being the cocky player alpha which pissed me off to this day. I don't understand. I still don't. And now I was going to find out everything I wanted to know.

He slowly sat down and I smiled.

"Good boy." My inner demon was now in control.

"Rule one, don't speak unless spoken to. Got it?" I said and he growled at my command.

This is going to be interesting.

"So you're saying you are going to give me a chance?" He said looking into my eyes with hope.

He broke my heart but I wasn't the same I wasn't going to leave him knowing he's going to die. I had to accept him and he had to let me. His rejection still lingered but he said he wouldn't hesitate to accept me.

Probably for his own selfish reasons or maybe because he genuinely changed and wants me. Maybe his heart melted when I left and that's what it took for him to realize...

Get back on track. Storm hissed.

I quickly jumped and cursed silently.

"Yes, I am." I breathed out.

"I'm...different from others. And when the time comes you'll find out about me." I said getting up.

I walked to the door without looking back.

"Wait Katalina." He growled out.

He grabbed my wrist and spun me around.

Our close proximity made my breath hitch. His stormy brown eyes bored into mine.

"Lucian I have to go now." I snapped sternly. The tingles and flames were almost unbearable.

"No." He said challenging me.

"You will stay and tell me everything Katalina. I hate being left in the dark about things and you know that." He growled in my ear.

"Lucian I-" and at that moment he had me. I was affected by everything. Everything he did was so sexy. His touch lingered on me even though he let me go.

"I'll see you later," I said hurriedly and then I disappeared into thin air. Perks of being an Angel. I walked into the woods. The woods I initially came from, dumb right? Because he would just come looking for me but there was no other way out.

Howls echoed through the night and I started to run because I knew he would have his wolves track me but little did he know I wasn't a normal wolf I was much higher and much more than anyone else thought.

I masked my scent and slowed down my pace. Time to go pay a demon a visit.

Hopefully, Luc's search party got the message and stopped looking for me. Because I was far gone.

I smiled into the night and closed my eyes. And open my arms spreading out the portal.

The portal to hell. Sweet sweet hell.
