Aiden's POV

It seems as if we got out of the lands quite safely but there was no sign of anyone else. We quickly walked out of the forest and although we exited a completely different way it looks like where we initially started.

I looked back and saw Amie and Allen were guarding the soul as we walked to the castle.

"Amie, where is she can you sense anything at all?" I asked.

"She's hurt. She's outside of Lucas' kingdom." Amie stated.

"Someone needed to get her or she'll die. She hit her head really bad. Aiden you get her while Allen and I secure her soul." Amie turned to me and I nodded.

From my knowledge, all Kat had to do was eat her soul. It should gravitate to her body once it got close enough to her. But I knew there was more to it than that.

I quickly shifted and started to run through the woods.
After all of these years, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her. She was beautifully crafted. She had this badass demeanor and it turned me on.

She was unique in the sense that she got to chose her mate and mate with them instead of being assigned one.

She was gold. She was beautiful and I'll be dammed if I let anything happen to her, that son of a bitch Lucas will go down.

As I ran I felt droplets of rain come down on me.

Droplets turned into a rapid downpour and I ran faster. I felt like I wasn't going to make it to her in time and that she was going to perish.

Kat's POV

I laid there in excruciating pain for what seemed like hours. I looked down and saw that Leah was gone and my world instantly shattered.

My body felt cold from the amount of rain falling on me.

I felt empty without her and I didn't know what to do. How could someone separate a mother from her child?

What did I do to deserve this? As a mother, I felt like everything was coming to an end for me. My daughter would never know me.

I didn't want to accept this fate but my soul was missing. I remember trying to pick myself up several times but it wasn't working out for me, I would fall back down.

I felt helpless.

The look on Leah's face flashed through my mind and I laid there as everything around me was becoming a blur. I would test thinking about my daughter. And stay in a blissful thought of having her around and being a good mother to her, because in reality, I couldn't.

"Kat. Katalina!!" I heard screams, and I felt someone pick me up but I didn't recognize the voice. I was quite upset as a matter of fact. They were snapping me out of my thoughts, and I didn't appreciate that one bit.

_

I woke up in a room with two identical guys and a girl that slightly looked like them but younger.

I was wrapped up in a huge brown blanket and given hot chocolate.

"W-what happened?" I asked after sipping the hot chocolate.

"Aiden here found you laying in the woods outside of Lucas' kingdom unconscious. You seemed like you were content there. May I ask why?" The girl stared.

I knew I knew these people but I hated the wave of confusion that came every time I encountered them.

Remember your friends. And you won't be forgotten.

The voice echoed in my mind over and over.

"I went to see my daughter, I had no intentions on getting back with Lucas, he told me not to touch her and I challenged him and touched her anyway. I don't know how I ended up outside of the castle but it was as if I was a ghost. I couldn't hold her the way I wanted to. I couldn't take her with me. I went to a place I haven't seen and I thought Leah was there with me but-" A tear went down my face and I couldn't even continue my sentence.

"Listen I'm soulless and I can never be with my daughter so I don't even want to be here anymore," I stated honestly.

"Listen, Kat. Do you not know how many people busted their ass to save Leah and get your soul back? Do you? So I don't want to hear that fücking shit ever come out of your mouth ever again." The girl snapped, and it evoked something strong inside of me.

I sat there and took in everything they told me from before and after I lost all sense of memory of who anyone was.

And the girl standing in front of me was Amie with her older twin brothers Allen and Aiden.

"We did get your soul back but some memories will be painful to regain. A sacrifice has to be made in order for you to get your soul and your life back. Aiden, Allen, and I have been discussing which one of us will sacrifice our life for yours in order for you to regain your soul and your daughter back and we came to a decision." Amy announced.

"Wait, why does someone have to die?" I said shakily. I didn't want any more blood on my hands.

"To return a soul the universe needs life in return. That's the rule." Allen stated.

I looked between the three of them in shock and before I said anything Amy looked into my eyes and said.

"The person that will be sacrificing their life for yours is—"
