Forget Me Not

Chapter 8

Lucian's POV

It has been weeks since Katalina killed herself. The mate pull was fading away and I feel it almost drifting into darkness. I swear I was such an asshole it took me a week to realize I made a stupid decision of rejecting Kat.

I slept in her room every night because it smelled just like her. Of course, I had some pack members clean up the mess before I slept in here. I hugged one of her stuffed animals and the memories kept flooding back making me feel pain and ache in my chest.

* When her family and everyone left her room I went in there alone. My face held a grim expression. Blood was splattered everywhere. The window had blood on it, so I went to it cautiously opening it to find a blood trail.

I got some of my best trackers to follow the trail. When they reported back to me it was not good; "Alpha we tracked the blood which led to a large lake. We found her clothes there with the bloody knife. The lake was bloody and had a terrible smell."

Later that day I made my announcement to the pack. "Katalina is dead and it is confirmed by my three best trackers." I stood up in front of the pack full of shame. I felt empty inside. Most of the pack was oblivious of the suicide note Kat left. They just thought Kat died while out late and rouges attacked her when others knew the painful truth.

"Isn't this great baby? The bitch is finally gone." Prissy laughed humorlessly making my blood boil. I know the truth about her and I will snap her neck in a second.

"Get away from me you fucking cold-hearted piece of shit. You will never be fit for a Luna's position!" I growled menacingly at her making her cower.

That night my bed felt cold. Lonely. I guess all she was to me was a bed warmer. God, I fucking screwed up! *

I snapped out of my thoughts receiving a call from Xavier. He let my pack reside in his for two months due to unknown rogue attacks and how defenseless most of the packs were. We needed all the training we could get.

Lately, Xavier has been acting cold towards me and I don't know why because we were close since diapers. I got off of Kat's bed going down to see that the pack was ready to go so we left in all of the pack vans and some of the cars. I laid my head on the car's window as my beta Brandon drove to the Midnight Shadow pack.

We finally pulled up to their packhouse. It was about one thousand times larger than ours. I mean I wasn't really surprised, having the strongest pack has its perks. Everyone packed out their things and we headed to the door to see Xavier there.

He nodded at me and I did the same greeting him.

"Hey man," I said giving him a bro hug then tensing. That scent he had on him was intoxicating. It was a familiar scent but different. It was of bubblegum and strawberries. I quickly let him go having a strange feeling.

"You and your pack can get settled right now on the left-wing of the packhouse. Make yourself comfortable." He said before returning into the packhouse.

I gave my pack members instructions and we got inside getting settled. I walked down to the left-wing when the scent hit me again.

"She can't get the snickers from another Hitta." I heard an angelic voice sing.

"She knows what I did with the Twix. My ex-girlfriend can't stand her cause her new man hit her with the jolly rancher." A male voice joined in then I heard laughter.

It was a Jacques song. 

The sound was getting closer and the scent was getting more intense bubblegum and strawberries.

I continued walking until I looked up seeing a blue-haired girl with hazel eyes stare at me with shock before hiding behind a guy.

"Aiden." She gasped clinging onto the guy.

"Calm down Kit Kat." Another guy identical to the guy named Aiden said.

"MATE," I growled approaching the girl.

"Allen please." She looked terrified.

He stepped in front of me smirking.

"I wouldn't come close to her if I were you." He said cockily making a growl tear through my throat.
