The elevator dinged as it slid open, and you stepped inside, pressing the ground-level button rapidly in a poor attempt to make it move faster.

You were on your way to the Arrow Cave after a long day of classes. Normally, you would suit up and help Oliver take down bad guys, but right now, you were focused on a writing project assigned by one of your college professors. Your nose was buried in a book you needed to read to complete your homework.

You barely glanced up as the elevator stopped and opened to the entrance of the Arrow HQ.

"Hey, Y/N," Oliver greeted, dropping down from the Salmon Ladder.

You jumped, startled; you hadn't expected anyone to be here for another hour. "Hey, babe."

You dropped your bag to the ground and pulled Oliver into a hug, ignoring that he was sweaty and shirtless. He smiled down at you, pressing a chaste kiss to your cheek, then another to your lips.

"Oliver, I'm rea—" Felicity started but cut herself off when she noticed you. She emerged from the back room wearing only a sports bra and shorts. "Oh, hey, Y/N."

"Ready for what?" you asked, pulling away from Oliver and crossing your arms as you glanced between the two suspiciously.

"He was going to teach me how to use the Salmon Ladder," Felicity explained with a bright smile, pointing at the equipment.

You shrugged, walking over to your bag. You pulled out your homework, trying your best to ignore Felicity's unnecessary grunts and moans, as well as Oliver's hand on her waist.

Oliver coached Felicity softly as he lifted her up to reach the bar. Her hands barely grasped it, and Oliver's hands rested on her lower back to steady her. You glared silently at the two, tapping your pen against your notepad in aggravation. Huffing in annoyance, you shoved your journal into your bag and stalked toward the elevator, almost running into John as he stepped out.

He grabbed your wrist to stop you. "Y/N, what's wrong?" he asked, confused as to why you were leaving before a mission.

Adjusting your bag on your shoulder, you nodded in the direction of Oliver and Felicity, who were still flirting as if you didn't exist. John's eyes widened in realization.

"I thought they were over," John sighed, releasing your arm. "Tell you what—stay, and I'll buy you drinks after we're done."

"Only if it's vodka."

"Deal."

Sighing, you handed John your bag and headed towards one of the chairs by Felicity's computer station. You nearly fell out of your seat when one of the security systems began to beep rapidly.

"Felicity! Come get your computer—I think it's mad," you called out, pushing yourself away from the desk.

With Oliver's help, she dropped down from the Salmon Ladder and jogged over, with him trailing behind her.

"Robbery on Fifth and Main," she reported.

"I got it," you said, pulling on your suit before Oliver could even reach for his.

"You need backup," Oliver insisted as he finally started putting on his suit.

"I'll take John. Besides, Felicity might need your help here." Your eyes narrowed, and you shot him a glare before grabbing your bow and a quiver of arrows.

"Huh? Wait, Y/N!" Oliver called out, looking dumbfounded as the elevator doors slid closed.

"We're in," you whispered into your earpiece, ducking behind a counter to stay hidden from the robbers inside. "Anything I should know?"

"Looks like the robbers are metas—one of them isn't showing up on the heat sensor. Either he's invisible or really, really cold," Felicity explained through the comm. You tried not to roll your eyes at the sound of her voice.

"Great," you muttered, reaching behind your back for a tranquilizer arrow. You lined up your shot and fired at the non-meta robber, hitting him squarely in the shoulder. He slumped forward, dragging the other man down with him.

"John, handcuffs," you whispered. He tossed them over, and you quickly cuffed the meta before he could push his unconscious partner off of him.

You placed your bow back on its rack and stored the remaining arrows in the shared container.

"Y/N!" Oliver called as you unzipped your suit, pushing it down your shoulders and leaving you in a sports bra and shorts.

"What?" you snapped.

He seemed taken aback by your harsh tone but continued, "Did you want to grab dinner before we head home?"

"Why don't you 'grab dinner' with Felicity?" you retorted, rolling your eyes as you hung your suit on its mannequin.

"Because you're my—oh." He paused mid-sentence as realization dawned on him. "You've been mad all day because I was helping Felicity with her workout."

You rolled your eyes for what felt like the millionth time. "No, I'm mad because you two were all touchy-feely, and you told me you didn't like that! It feels like maybe when we started dating, you weren't ready and still had feelings for her." You jutted out your bottom lip, adjusting the mannequin in its rightful place.

"Babe, when Felicity and I ended things, it was because it wasn't working out. When we started dating, it wasn't because I wanted a rebound—it was because I love you. Felicity and I are in the past. You and I are my future." He finished his speech with both hands cupping your face.

Without thinking, you pushed up on your toes and crashed your lips into his.

After a while, you pulled apart, your forehead resting against his. "Wanna grab dinner?" you smirked, looking into his eyes as a small smile tugged at his lips.

"I thought you wanted me to go with Felicity."

"Shut up," you laughed, pulling him by the hand towards the elevator. "I love you."

"Love you too."
