"Are you sure it was okay to leave without telling Tamaki? You know that he is bound to overreact."  Haruhi and I were working together on putting up the laundry at a little bed and breakfast that Ranka had sent us to for the summer to work.

"I just didn't want the drama that would come with them knowing. To be honest, it is really refreshing to be here on our own, we can finally have a non-stressed girl day now that your business lessons are done!" She grinned at me happily from the side and I smiled back.

"Yeah, it's a relief to know that my family's business is mine to run now, though I might still have nightmares about that test Mr. Ootori had set up for me!" We laughed together, but I was serious about the last part, in order to make sure that I was ready to take over the company, Mr. Ootori had set up an in-depth test that covered all aspects of running a business, and it was a simulation test to, so needless to say, it was exhausting and more comprehensive than I had thought possible.

"What about you?" Haruhi's question jerked me from my reverie and I looked at her questioningly, "Did you tell anyone that you were going to be here?"

"Of course. Actually, I didn't even need to tell Kyoya, he asked me about it a week ago, and he asked if it would be okay with me to come down to be with me." I shouldn't have been surprised when Kyoya had approached me and asked if I was excited to be spending the break in Karuizawa with Haruhi, but I would be lying if I wasn't at least a bit surprised. We talked about what I would be doing and he even made some arrangements for a special date right there (I was a little irritated with him because he wouldn't tell me what we were doing).

"You do realize that your plan is likely to backfire on you, right Haruhi?" I said suddenly, remembering why we started the conversation in the first place.

"Well, I guess, at first I was a little apprehensive about not telling the guys about my plans for the summer, but it isn't like they really have the free time to keep tabs on me anyway, right?"

I snorted and she glared at me, then turned back to the laundry and sighed contentedly, "This place is so tranquil, fresh air, quiet setting; the perfect get a way for a girl to catch up on her studies. It's gonna be great."

I grinned and picked up another piece of laundry to hang up, "Just keep telling yourself that, Haruhi."

Suddenly a wind picked up, and sadly familiar voice shouted out, "Haruhi, despair not! Daddy's come to save you!" I busted up laughing as Haruhi groaned.

"And by great, apparently I mean a nightmare."

The boys had gone inside with Misuzu, the owner of the place we were working at and one of Ranka's old friends. Wanting to avoid the endless question and answer session, I went to the kitchen to prepare some snacks for everyone, including a strawberry cake for Honey, who I knew would be really happy.

"You really are determined to avoid the social interaction out there, aren't you?" A voice from the doorway asked and I laughed lightly.

"You know me Kyoya, I'll do anything to avoid Tamaki's ranting!" We chuckled together and I continued to put together a large tray to bring out.

"Misuzu seems like he really like having you two here, he says you've both been very helpful." He said quietly as he came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. I blushed because I still wasn't used to casual contact from him, even though we had been dating for over two months now.

"So, what's happening out there? Is Tamaki still ranting about the solidarity of the Host club?" I asked as the finishing touches were placed.

"No, it's moved on to cell phones. Speaking of which, why hasn't yours been on?" Kyoya asked, almost accusingly.
