Harry's POV
April 10, 1912 - 12:15pm
That was the girl that I bumped into earlier. I finally got to see her face and gosh, was it beautiful.
She was gorgeous. Not like most of the girls that tried to have their chance with me. This girl was effortlessly beautiful. She had a soft spoken face that still screamed confidence when you looked at her. Her posture was elegant, clearly something she picked up from her mother who looked just as sophisticated as she did. The girl's purple dress was unmistakable, as no other girl was wearing purple.
Also, judging by the way she glared at me, I could make the assumption that this girl was probably the one I had bumped into. I decided to be the gentleman my mother always told me to be, and I made the gesture of tipping my hat towards her before I smirked. I watched her as she frowned and continued walking down the deck, not listening to a word my friend was saying.
"And I was saying- Harry? Harry?" Fred shoved me lightly when he noticed I wasn't paying attention anymore. I hummed distractedly and yelped when he threw a punch to my arm.
"Don't waste your time, mate," he warned, "you'll be better off dead."
I frowned and glanced at Fred before I turned my attention back to the girl who was now getting farther and farther. I sighed defeated as I turned back to my friend.
"It's happened before," I reasoned, "there have been plenty of people who have married other people regardless of their castes. It's all transparent anyways."
I squinted in the sun as I huffed and leaned back against the wall of the ship. Fred shrugged and placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Maybe," he replied, "but for men like us, I think it's best we stay in our lanes."
I sighed and looked down for a second before looking in the direction she went off in. I knew Fred had a point. Getting into relationships or even socializing with people from a lower caste when you were in a higher one wasn't common. But I didn't care about that. I felt the urge to go and introduce myself. Maybe get to know her. I'm not saying I would like her to be my lover, but I would've liked to know her at least.
I was starting a new life in America anyways. I might as well see what the people are like.
"Maybe," I agreed, "but I think I'm going to go off my trail for a second."
I smirked and nudged him before I took off in the direction she went. She was no longer in sight, so I suspected she turned a corner or something or perhaps went into the parlor. I walked around the deck, glancing around to see if I could find her. I sighed in frustration many times when I came out unsuccessful and was about to turn back around when I spotted a purple dress far away, near the front of the ship. My eyes squinted in the sunlight, and I raised my hand to act as a shield from the sun so I could see clearly. I smirked when I saw the familiar purple and bit my lip before I slowly made my way over to the girl.
I shoved my hands in my pockets and walked over to her. She was leaning against the railing, hands timidly holding the metal as she looked out into sea. When I stood behind her, I immediately remembered to check my appearance, and I jolted before I quickly brushed my hair back with my curls, sighing inwardly when the wind moved it back to its original messy look. I took in a deep breath and stepped forward clearing my throat. She turned her head towards me and frowned slightly as her brown eyes poured into my green ones. I felt myself get overwhelmed by her beauty and found myself instantly enthralled with the idea of getting to know this girl.
"Hello, ma'am," I began, smiling slightly, "I erm, I bumped into you earlier, when we were boarding. I just wanted to apologize formally."
Her eyebrows raised slightly as she turned to face me. She parted her red lips and looked me up and down before she settled her eyes on me.
