⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie stood waiting patiently on her porch. It was Friday night which meant it was time for the party, and it was one of her last days in town.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She was beginning to feel nervous about leaving but every day in the house with just her mother, things getting worse. Most days they didn't speak to each other but her mom would throw the occasional snarky comment here or there.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Trying to push her thoughts away from moving and the fact that she still hadn't told Johnny, she looked down at her outfit. She was wearing a long sleeve black crop top that only showed about a centimeter of her stomach. She had on a gray mini skirt and black high heels. Her hair was curled loosely, and she had on a very average amount of makeup.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie thought she looked pretty good, but for some reason she was nervous about what Johnny would think. Weird right? Why would she care what he thought? It wasn't like she needed his approval, she wore what she wanted, she just was scared he would think she looked...bad.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie kept looking up at the street every time she heard an engine until one time it was finally Johnny. She recognized his black car the minute it turned onto her street. She could have drove herself, but her mom took her keys away once she announced she was moving.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Mackenzie smiled down at the car as it pulled up outside her huge house. She began to stand up as Johnny got out of the car to meet her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He was wearing a gray t-shirt with dark blue jeans. The cut of the shirt fit him nicely, and his hair looked perfect in a messy way, yet you knew he put a lot of time into it. Kenzie had this weird feeling when she saw him that kind if took her breath away, and made her stop in her tracks. It was like her stomach flipped but in a happy way, and she felt...nervous.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Johnny also gave her a weird look as he got out of the car. It was a mix of admiration and wistfulness, but again it made a butterflies form in Kenzie's stomach. She still didn't understand what was happening, she didn't understand what that feeling meant.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Instead of thinking about it any further she just kept walking towards him. Finally she made it down to the walk way, as he was almost to her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Hey." Johnny said, with a happy grin. Kenzie bite her lip to hold back a full blown smile that was threatening to appear on her face.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Hi." She answered and they were finally only about two feet apart. Johnny scratched the back of his neck nervously.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You look really pretty." He said as calmly as he could despite the nervousness he felt inside. It was the first time he'd complimented her, although he'd always thought she was beautiful.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Thank you." Kenzie said with a smile that relived him. He was kind of scared she'd get weirded out but she didn't.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀They quietly walked down to the car, a million things were buzzing through Kenzie's head. Like why was 'thank you' the only thing she could spit out? Why could she feel her heart beating out of her chest? Why did she feel so nervous?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀-------------------------------------
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Mackenzie leaned against the wall as loud music blasted through her ears. The stench of beer was making her feel sick, and all of the PDA at that place made her want to physically throw up.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Parties were usually a blast for her, but she was usually with her 'click'. They always got treated like royalty at those things, and it was a lot more enjoyable.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀There was also the fact that Kenzie didn't drink, which made her feel pretty alone. Oh and there was the fact that she was actually alone, some girl came over and grabbed Johnny to dance with her. Kenzie couldn't help but feel mad as she tried to find him in the crowd.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He was no where to be found, at least not when she was just glancing across the room. She had this urge to go and find him, but she felt like she should just try and act chill.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She was soon snapped out of her thoughts about Johnny when a very familiar face appeared in front of her. Hayden Sumerall and Saryna Garcia walking by her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie was confused as to why he was with Saryna and not Annie, when her eyes landed on the brunette sitting on the other side of the room. She was alone and her eyes were stained with tears, but Kenzie just rolled her eyes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Usually she'd be nice and go see what was wrong even if she didn't care but she knew what was wrong. Hayden proved once again he was the lying cheating bastard she already knew she was. Maybe if Annie wasn't such a jerk and still hung around Hayden when she knew he had a girlfriend she'd go consul her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Hey Kenzie." Saryna said fake happy when her eyes landed on her. Kenzie forced a smirk onto her face as her eyes traveled to Hayden and Saryna's linked hands. She didn't care who Hayden dated it just kind of hurt that Saryna, her ex-friend, jumped at the opportunity.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Saryna." Kenzie said nodding her head in an acknowledging way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"What are you doing here you weren't invited?" Saryna questioned with giggle that made Kenzie want to puke even more.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Yeah I actually was." She answered rolling her eyes and leaning her head against the wall. She didn't feel like dealing with this.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Oh well, I guess we've resorted to inviting literal trash to party with us." She answered with another giggle as she looked at Hayden was wasn't paying much attention to her. His eyes were traveling to every girl's ass in the room. Mackenzie suddenly felt a bunch of anger form inside her. She was so done with this, and she was about to end it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I'm trashy? You're the one being a physoctic, paranoid bitch who thinks I stole a boy from her that wasn't ever hers. Oh and by all means have Hayden, I've been done with him....I got to say though Hay, you really don't have standards anymore do you?" Kenzie snapped back trying to hurt Saryna in anyway possible. She was queen bee around there and she'd prove that until the second she was gone, then they could do whatever the hell they wanted.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀After that last comment Saryna's face was priceless. Her jaw dropped and at the same time her eyes widened really big. Kenzie almost burst out laughing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You bitch." Saryna said angrily not having any other comeback. Mackenzie bite her lip, but soon broke out into a smile.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"The one and only." She answered walking away with a sarcastic wave.
