Ellen's Pov

Today is a special day. Today is Patrick's birthday. He is turning 42, but we don't count age. I have bought him something very special. I've bought him two backstreet boys tickets for him and I so we can go see them in a week at the LA amphitheater. He will love it! He'll do anything for his favorite band. I stayed over at his house last night, but he didn't notice since he was already fast asleep. I stare at him now, and he looks so cute. I want to kiss him and wake him up, but another part of me wants to leave him be. I decided I would do something nice and make Patrick some breakfast. His favorite meal is eggs and bacon, so I started to make that for him. I was finished by the time I heard Patrick groaning from the couch, then I knew that Patrick was waking up.

"Hello Ellen? Not to be rude, but what are you doing here?" Patrick asks.

"It's your birthday Paddy, so I decided I would stay over and suprise you." I say smiling. "Thank you, I'm glad you're here. But really Ellen, we don't have to celebrate my birthday." Patrick says. "Oh really, then you're not going to like the gift I got you later." I say sassily. "You got me a gift? El, you didn't have to do that." Patrick says calmly. "We don't have work today, but I invited a few friends over." I say. Just then, the doorbell rings, I got off the couch to answer it, and pulled open the door.

"Hey Ellen, I just wanted to say hello to the birthday boy!"

Patrick's Pov

From the couch, I recognized that voice as Kate Walsh, Addison Montergomery on Grey's Anatomy. "Hey El, I just wanted to say, happy birthday!" Kate says. "Kate, I already told Ellen not to celebrate it, it's just like any other day." I said.

"Nonsense, today is special. Today is everything that you want it to be." Kate says calmly. "Ha, next thing that's going to happen is Shonda's going to be emailing me happy birthday emails. Looks like I'm very popular today." I laughed.

All of a sudden, the phone rings and Ellen picked it up. "Patrick, it's your mom calling." Ellen replied, giving the phone to me.

"Hey mom, what's up?"

"Patrick what's up? it's your birthday for heavens sake."

"I told Ellen not to celebrate it!"

"But it's a big deal Patrick! You deserve a celebration. Tell your girl Ellen that I say hello."

"Alright, tell Alessia and Mary that I say hello too."

I put the phone on the counter and walk back to Ellen and Kate. "So Patrick, open my present first!" Ellen says excitedly. I carfully take the tissue paper out of the bag, and there I find a card and read it.

"Happy birthday Patrick, Happy birthday to the most amazing man in the world, when everything goes bad, and the light in my soul dies, you're the one who brings it back to life. I love you Patrick, so I'm sure that you're going to enjoy my gift."

"Thank you for the card Ellen, your message was very sweet." I said.

"You're welcome Patrick, now open the gift! I want to see your reaction." Ellen says. "Okay, here goes nothing." I said and ripped the paper. I screamed.

"OH MY GOD ELLEN! BACKSTREET BOYS TICKETS! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! THANK YOU SO MUCH!"

Ellen's Pov

I laugh so hard almost crying. He was like a little boy at Christmas time getting a new toy. Little did he know that I filmed his whole happy outburst.

"And their front row seats! We can literally touch them! I can't thank you enough!" He smiled.

We have a group hug and Patrick and I kissed. "Eww, gross! Get a room!" Kate says pretending to be disgusted. "But literally, I'm so jealous. I wish I could be there as well." She says.

"My kids are coming over in the afternoon, so we can spend the whole afternoon with them." Patrick says calmly.

"Good. But I can't stay guys, I have to go." Kate says.

"Really? Oh well, drive safe and bye." Ellen says.

"Bye, and happy birthday Patrick." Kate says and leaves.

Two hours later, Patrick's kids come over and they hug him. "Happy birthday daddy, I love you! We got you this." Tallulah says and gives the bag to him.

"Thank you guys! You know, you didn't have to get me anything.

"Out of the three of us, we put all our money together. Open it!" Darby said.
Patrick looked at his three kids and nodded. "Alright, here goes nothing."

He ripped through the rapping paper, and took it out. He stared down at it in awe.

"What is it?" I asked curiously.

"It's a McDreamy shirt."

I looked at the shirt curiously, and sure enough, it was a McDreamy shirt. Navy blue and white in the background, and had Patrick's face on top and said McDreamy underlined underneath.

"Patrick, you should wear that shirt to work tomorrow." I laughed.

"Yes daddy, Ellen's right, please do it." Tallulah says. Sullivan and Darby nodded.

"Alright, yes I will."
