Standing My Ground

I sit up on the bathroom counter while Kyra checks out my sure to be broken arm.

"So are you and Shane some type of couple or something?"

Kyra laughs at me then says, "Ash just so you know Shane doesn't exactly play for our team. Didn't you notice his body language?"

"No, not exactly I try to focus more on how people say things and how the react to what I say so I can tell when they are lying or not, that's kind of how I knew I could trust you I just felt it."

"Well maybe I will teach you how to read more into body language," Kyra says as she turns over my arm and it wrenches in pain, I muffle a scream. "Okay here is our problem it's just bellow your elbow and a little to the right you have a possible crack straight down the bone. I think its called the Radius bone. Yup now that I think of it, that's what it is. I can make you a shift cast but I think we're going to have to go out for this." I think about asking Kyra how she knows all of that but I don't think to ask because it might be a soft subject so I stay quite for a little.

"Great that's just what I need to put more people in more danger then we already are..." I say as I slowly get off the counter to not hurt my arm more then it already needs to be at the moment. I open the door to leave to find Kyle with a bloody nose and eye turning black and blue. "What the hell happened to you?! Come here!" I help him off the floor which he fell to and sit him up on the counter. I grab a bunch of tissues and give them to him.

"It was Connnar," He says while spitting the blood that ran into his mouth back into the sink. Gross but I guess it must be better then swallowing it...

"Why would he do that? What did you do to make him that mad to beat you to a pulp?"

"Well... let me see , uh I can barely remember but I think it was how I told him what we talked about and how you also hurt your arm. He thinks that it was my fault it happened." He throws a tissue in the garbage and I hand him another.

"How does that make sense it's not like you pushed me!" I almost yell. Damn all these guys need to calm down and chill like really?

"He figured since I made you mad enough to even leave the house and to run around in the woods putting yourself in danger that you hurt yourself. He blamed all of it on me."

"Okay well Kyra can you help him? I need to have a nice little chat with someone."

"I can sure , no problem, just don't go beating him up too. I don't need to be fixing anyone else tonight okay?"

"No promises," I say back to her as I storm out of the bathroom and head down the hall to Connar's room. I almost slam the door down while yelling at him, "Connar you better open the damn door or I will break it down myself. I'm a lot stronger then everyone thinks!" He opens the door full of confidence.

"Yeah. what's gotten you all upset?" He adds will one of his cocky smiles.

"You know what! Seriously beating up Kyle, my God you boys seriously are acting like two year olds, but can just punch a lot harder!" I still scream he answers quietly like he is scared to upset me even more, which I don't think is possible at the moment. "Really we're going to play the stupid game you don't remember the bloody nose and that black and blue eye you gave him, hm?"

"Ash, I'm serious. I have no idea what your talking about I have been talking to Caleb." He stops I turn to see Caleb lounging in the chair to the side of the room.

"Kyle went outside after we broke the little conference. Connar hasn't even been near him." Caleb adds sweetly to try and calm me down.

"So, you're telling me that some random rock flew out of the sky and hit him in the face or something like that? That's how all this happened?"
