"Mo..Mom." The words come out as stutters. How is this possible my own mother involved in this world, I am just starting to learn about. I grab on to the chair in front of me to keep me from falling over. I sit, to make sure my knees don't give out.
"Ash, honey it's good to finally see you again. How are you?" She ask sweetly. I don't know if I should be mad or joyed that my mother is still alive.
" I'm not okay. Did you seriously just ask me that? I have been through hell thinking my brother and mother are dead or let me change that were dead and on top of that I have some crazy person coming after me for God only knows what, also I found out I have these freaky mind abilities and I had to and still are figuring them out on my own! So no, I am not okay not at all! How could you just sit here and let me think you were dead?" I yell my words at her through the tears.
"I'm so sorry, hon..." She whispers.
"Don't you dare say your sorry! You could have , you could have saved him, but you sat here and let him die, you could have helped me and you know it! So don't you say your sorry!" I wipe away my tears and storm out of the room leaving her there. How could she even do this to me leave me and sit in her little office? I head down random hallways. My thoughts take over me, and I fall to the floor. The tears don't hesitate to come back. I should be mad right now, but the tears come instead. I let out a scream to try and calm myself, it doesn't work. She left me, left me to fight off who ever is coming after me and to figure all of this out.
"Ash..." I look up and find Ian starring at me. I quickly wipe away my tears, not wanting him to see me cry.
"If your just here to yell at me, I really don't want to hear it Ian." He sits nest to me on the cold tile floor. I stare at the walls around me they are colored a blue-ish grey color.
"I'm not, I just saw you and..."
"And what?" I look at him. He brushes his black hair out of his face His deep sapphire eyes look at me.
"I know we got off on the wrong start, because of... Shadow and my little sister, but Ash I want to try again, for James." I can tell he is trying to be sympathetic, I also feel a strong connection to him so I will try. Are hands brush and a vision takes over.
"I'm sorry Ian you just didn't keep up your side of the deal, by not finding Ash and bringing her to me, so now you have to pay the consequences ." A shadow of a man says, that must literally be Shadow.
"Ian!" A girl with the same blue eyes and face shape as Ian yells. She looks very similar besides for her brown hairs to his black. Two boys hold her arms behind her. They both are behind some type of glass for what reason I have no idea.
"Elena, I'm so sorry..." Ian whispers. Elena, I must be seeing what happened to Ian's little sister.
"You two know what to do!" Shadow commands. His voice is distorted, it must be important to hide his identity. I look over to Elena, the boys force her to her knees in the black room we are in. She doesn't try to move or fight, she just waits for her death. One of the boys flicks his head and I notice Elena suppress a scream while cringing. The other boy does the same thing. I wonder what there abilites are? This time she can't hold back from the pain they are bringing the girl. She let's out blood curdling screams.
"Oh the satisfying sound of someone burning on the inside." Shadow says full of pure pride. Ian is on his knees forced to watch his own little sister burn from the inside out. The screaming finally receads, I look over and see Elena limp lifeless body on the floor.
The vision blurs and I come back to the hallway just Ian and I.
"Did you..." I start
"See that too?" Ian finishes for me.
"I... uh, never had that happen before. How about you?"
"Me neither."
"What do you think that means?" I ask him. I am scared of the answer.
"I have no idea..." I move my hand away quickly to make sure what ever just happened doesn't happen again. I feel a burning sensation on my skin. I look down at my stone , instead of it being all black like before it now has a sparkling blue streak in the middle.
"Ian, do you see this?"
"Yeah, God what is up with my shoulder?" He lifts up the sleeve of his dull green shirt. His tattoo which is some type of tribal tattoo which was all black now has and extra mark in the same blue that matches mine.
"What the hell?"
"We need to go see Aria." He says. That is my mothers name.
"You know who she is to me right?" I ask, maybe he doesn't know.
"James mentioned it once. She is your mother right?"
"Yeah, and I just left her there and I don't want to go back that is kind of why I am here."
"Ash you have to, she is the only one who will at least have a clue of what is going on."
"Fine." I say as Ian helps me off the ground. He navigates the halls with ease back to my mothers office. The door is open so we walk in.
"Ian, is everything okay?" She ask as she approaches us.
"I don't know.. when Ash touched my hand we shared a vision and now her love stone has a blue streak in it and now my tattoo does too. What is going on?" He ask calmly. If it was me I would be freaking out and wouldn't be even able to stay in place.
"Come sit over here both of you." We walk over to the red couch on the side of the room. She takes out my necklace then looks at Ian's tattoo.
"I have only seen this once before with Elise and Cade. Even though it is not with the person who originally gave you, your love stone or your tattoo the main stone picked up on your connection and changed you so now you have a permanent mental connection through the stones."
"The main stone, what is that?" I ask.
" It is the stone all of are love stones came from and that gave us are abilities." Ian says.
"Oh.." I feel very unintelligent because I don't know many things like that.
"Yes, now the connection between you two could break in the main stone feels you have a stronger imprint with someone else besides the first person who gave you it, then you will have a different color streak in your black stone and a different connection."
"So you are telling me I am imprinted and connected with someone I barely know?" I ask in partial frustration.
"Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. So if you want to become stronger and don't make the imprint something that takes your power away I suggest you get to know each other, or the main stone will not hesitate to start striping you of your powers." She says smartly. I look at Ian and I find him looking straight back, this is great another thing I need to figure out.
