I easily break the window and am out with ease. I sprint to the place I once called part of my home, the woods. It always made me feel like I was really myself there more than the Dauntless headquarters ever did. I keep my senses on high alert to make sure there are no alarms or no Lotes. If Shadow some how got Lotes I would be screwed, those things are hunting and killing machines They have there own brain, able to seek out anyone from 3,000 mile distance, heat sensors to feel the body heat of someone and guns that shoot about 4,000 miles away from it's target. If one of those were after me I wouldn't even have a sliver of a chance of even making it to the clearing. I keep running hearing no alarms, and no wheels crunching the leaves, so I slow down but keep a steady pace. Before I even realize I am at the clearing I drop as soon as one foot touches to the soft grass my troubles wash right by me. I look up at the rock and see the back of a girl. I run up to her and quickly turn her around and it's as, at least the Ash I first met.
"Ash?" She backs up from me giving me a scared look, her emotion's running crazy. Wow I can actually feel what she is feeling now, since now I have my abilities and this Ash doesn't.
"How...how do you know my name?" She stutters nervously. I connect to her emotions there is both mortally terrified and a little hint of bravery showing through.
"How are you here?" I know I probably shouldn't ask that if some how I connected into a time loop or something but I can't help myself but ask.
"I was about to ask you the same thing, look I don't want to cause any trouble, I'm just going to leave now okay."
"Wait! " I grab her wrist right as she start to run. She starts to scream then slowly closes her eyes, but when the re-open they glow of an iridescent blue.
"Kyle?" She ask me slowly and confused. She looks around surprised like she is a new person.
"Yeah, it's me." I noticed I am still holding her wrist so I slowly put it down, she gives me a quick hug then ask,
"How am I here I was just with everyone at The Fallen headquarters ?"
"I'd love to know too trust me, but don't worry soon I will be there, I promise. I should be home by tonight." I see that smile that made my heart melt that first day. I hug her one last time then I feel her fade. I blink and shes gone, I drop to the ground. I pick myself back up and head off running to The Fallen. A promise is a promise and I plan on keeping this one.
