Officially summer

Chapter twenty-seven

Kristen's POV: it's finally summer! I'm so excited! The SHAYTARDS sadly left yesterday. "Kristen. Wake up and get ready Charles has a doctors appointment to go to!" Alli shouts from the kitchen I think. "Ok." I get up and make my bed and start getting ready. I wear a IKT muscle tee with a bando underneath. I put on my grey shorts with holes in them and I grab my pink converse. "Want a muffin or a bagel?" Alli asks me when I sit at the kitchen table. "Muffin please." I say getting my orange juice. She gives me a warmed up muffin and sits across from me. "What's Charles' appointment for?" I ask shoving the muffin in my mouth. "Just a check up on that dumb brain slug." She says pointing to the right side of her head. I nod and finish my muffin. Charles comes into the kitchen and sits at the table. "I don't want to go." He says laying his head on the table. "I know, but you have to go." Alli says rubbing his back. "It's almost gone babe. Soon it will be no more going to the doctor." She kisses him and cleans up the table.

"Hello?" Alli says answering her phone "ok see you soon. Bye." She says hanging up the phone. "Who was that?" I ask grabbing my phone am putting it in my pocket. "My mom, she is watching to babies." "Why can't she watch me?" I ask whining. "Because we have a surprise for you." I nod and smile at them. "Hint?" They shake their heads and smile at me. "Please??" "No you can wait." I sigh and rest my head in my hands. "Ok let's go." I stand up and walk to the car. Lauren arrives right when we leave the driveway. Once we get to the doctors we all go in and Alli checks Charles in. "Ok Trippy? We are ready for you." We all stand up and walk into the long bright hallway.

(I am not a doctor BTW)

"Ok Mr. Trippy. We have to take an MRI to check on that tumor of yours." Charles nods and follows the doctor into a different room. After twenty minutes Charles comes back into the room and sits in between Alli and me. Then the doctor comes in and pulls sheets out of a folder. "We have some bad news." The doctor says putting the papers on the light up board. I turn off the lights and wait for the news. "Charles, we are sad to say, you have to have another surgery..." The doctor look down and we all look at him shocked. Alli then breaks down and cries into Charles' shoulder. I'm still sitting there shocked. Charles cries and hugs Alli. He whispers to her, "it's going to be ok. This will be my third time. Don't worry." He kisses her head and we start to calm down, but we are still crying. "Why does he have to have another sugery?" Alli asks wiping her eyes. "The tumor has started to come back because we couldn't get it all the way out last time. But on the bright side the cancer will defiantly be gone after this sugery." The doctor shakes our hands and gives us time to think. "Kristen, I'm sorry your summer is going to suck." Alli says hugging me. "It won't. We will all still have fun." I smile and we have the courage to leave the hospital. This summer won't be the best but it will still be fun.

His surgery is in two weeks. We are all pretty nervous about it. We have gotten many cards from family and friends in the past week. Charles hasn't been his normal self so Alli and I vlog most of the time. The vlogs have gone from ten minutes to about five each day. We are gaining subscribers more than losing them which is good. Everyone is so supportive. Alli's parents came over to help and so did Charles' parents. Justin and Melissa are over too. some of the guys stopped by to bring us things and tell us it's ok. Danny is staying the night to help us out. Charles isn't eating with us or even sleeping with Alli. He sleeps on the couch and sits there all day. He does eat though. After we post the vlog of the day we always do how Charles is doing and how we are doing. We get so many nice comments and we opened the P.O. box back up because we have so many comments to open it up. "Charles, you have to get off of the couch just once." Alli grabs his arm and pulls him up. He groans and stands up. "Just this once!" Alli kisses him and hugs him.

Alli sings and smiles at him. "Your as good as Travis." Danny says coming out of the room. She smiles at him and hugs Charles. "Let's get something to eat." Charles says. He looks a little better than before, but I think it's because he is smiling. I make pasta for everyone and set it out at the table. We talk about everything but the surgery and anything bad about Charles. We laugh and talk while we eat lunch then everything goes back to normal except for Charles. He vlogs for at least twenty minutes about all the support everyone gave us and who has come here and even what has been going through his head as he sat on the couch all day. I hope this never changes.
