First day of school

Chapter fourty-four

Kristen's POV: I'm at Charles' house for the first week of school. Thursday I go to Alli's then come back Next Tuesday. This whole divorcing thing is horrible. Charles and Alli still haven't divorced but they only see each other when they are picking me up or dropping me off. Charles still can't drive so aunt Melissa is with us. "Kristen, time for school." Charles opens my blinds then rubs my back. "You need to wake up." He starts tickling me. I laugh and sit up. "Get ready." Charles leaves my room and I get ready for my first day of seventh grade. I grab a small bag full of only a few things I need for the week. I walk out of my room and put on flip flops. "I made pancakes." Aunt Melissa says smiling. I hug her and sit down to eat. "Tired?" Charles asks sitting next to me. I nod and eat my food. I take my vitamin and go to my room to brush my teeth. After I do that I put on my bag and leave for the bus. "Bye!" I yell leaving the house. "Bye!" Charles yells and I walk to the bus. Avery and a few other sixth graders. "Hey!" Avery says waving. "Hi." I yell and we all wait for the bus. Once the bus comes I get on behind Avery and we sit together in the front. We talk about our classes and connections. "Chorus? You're in chorus?" Avery asks pointing to my schedule. "Yea, I needed something else to do so I chose chorus. I would rather be Travis then my dad." Avery laughs. "Wow, nice." I nod and laugh. we arrive at school and we get off the bus. We go to our homerooms and sit in any seat. I sit next to a girl named Rylan. "Hi I'm Kristen." "Oh I know who you are, I'm Rylan." I smile and shake her hand. "How?" "CTFxC." She smiles at me and we get paperwork from our teachers "make sure your parents or guardians sign all of these by Wednesday." Mrs. Huey said. Students in losing me put the paperwork in our bags. After all of that we heard the bell for first period. I have Math first, ugh. I walk in and sit next to Avery and Rebecca, a new student. We all introduce ourselves and Mrs. Egner tell us about what we will be learning and other boring stuff, ugh! Gross! I hate math so much. After math I go to Science with Avery. We have all of the same classes. I sit next to Avery and a boy named Ashton, and boy was he cute. I smile at him and Mrs. Hyland introduces herself. We got to talk at the end of class which was fun. "Hi I'm Kristen, this is Avery." I say to Ashton. "Hi, I'm Ashton." OMG! His voice is hot. I turn towards Avery and she smiles at me. I lean over and whisper to Avery. "I think I'm in love." Avery laughs and I turn towards Ashton when the bell rings. "Bye Ashton." I smile and grab my books. "He's hot!" Avery says as we walk to Social Studies. I nod and smile. "Do you think he likes you?" Avery asks nudging my arm. "I don't know, hopefully!" We both walk into third period and sit together. Ashton walks in and sits across from me then this boy Caleb sits across from Avery. We smile at each other as Mrs. Huey introduces herself. Avery and I whisper to each other the whole class. We didn't even get yelled at. After third we go to the lunch room. "So, I think we found our matches." Avery says walking next to me. "You get Caleb and I get Ashton." We both giggle and walk to the lunch room. "Hey Kristen! Over here!" Ashton yells, waving me down. I point to Avery to see if she can come. He nods and we both walk to the table. I sit across from Ashton and next to Avery. Caleb later sits down next to Ashton and we talk. "What are your connections?" Ashton asks pointing to my schedule. "Today I have gym, tomorrow chorus." Ashton nods and says, "I have gym today and chorus tomorrow." I smile at him and Avery kicks my leg. "That's awesome! We have the same connections!" He nods and Avery smiles at me. "What do you have?" Ashton asks pointing to Avery. "Gym today and technology tomorrow." Caleb and Ashton nod. "I have the same as Avery!" Caleb says smiling. We all finish eating and we go to connections. "Ok everyone! This is the girls locker room! I'm coach Amy and this is coach Ellen. In the boys locker room we have coach Gant and coach Mike. Today you won't dress out, but on Friday you will. I hope you all bought your clothes at open house or you can get some Wednesday." Coach Amy let's us go into the gym to get in our spots. Avery is in coach Mikes class and so is Ashton. Caleb is in coach Gants class. I am in coach Ellen's. We have to sit in our spots till the bell rings. I sit next two a girl named Reagan and three boys Connor, Brandon, and Tyler. The boys are so annoying! I talk to Reagan till we hear the bell. Everyone gets up and rushes to their fifth period class. I have Reading with Reagan but no one else. I sit next to Reagan and Mrs. Brooke's introduce herself and what we will do in her class. Finally it's sixth, I have Ashton Avery and Caleb in that class. We all go into Language Arts and sit at a table that seats four. Ashton and Caleb sit across from each other which means I say next to Ashton! It was an amazing class. Us four talked and listened to Mr. Clark. "Avery, his name reminds me of Travis." Avery nods. "Who's Travis?" Ashton asks turning around. "Travis Clark, my dad's friend." "Wait, Travis Clark?! The lead singer of We The Kings?!" Caleb asks. I slowly nod and laugh. "Woah that's so cool," Ashton says, "wait, whose your dad?" I turn towards him and smile, "Charles Trippy." I cross my arms and lean in my chair. "WOAH!! How did I not know that?!?!" Caleb asks screaming. "Mr. Bass? Do we have a problem?" Mr. Clark asks. "No, everything's fine." Caleb says still looking at me. "Ms. Trippy? Can you share with the class?" I slowly stand up, "um, you remind me of my dad's friend, Travis Clark, because of your last name," I look around the room and see jaws drop, "my dad's friend is the lead singer of We The Kings, my dad is Charles Trippy." I hear someone whisper 'I knew it!' I smile and sit back down. "Ok can we continue?" I nod and listen to Mr. Clark. Once the bell rings we all run out the door to our buses. Ashton rides my bus! I sit next to him and smile. "Kristen, sit here!" Avery pay the empty spot next to her. I shake my head and point to the empty seat in front of me. She sighs and comes in front of me. "Oh la la." Avery says laughing. I glare at her and smile at Ashton.

I get off the bus with Avery and we walk home. "You should ask him out!" Avery says laughing. "No the boys ask the girls not girls ask boys." Avery nods and I walk into my house. She waves goodbye as I shut the door. "Hi Kristen." Charles says hugging me. "Hi." I sit at the kitchen table and give Charles the paperwork. "Did you have fun? Did anyone recognize you?" I nod, "this girl Ryan recognized me, then I got in trouble because this kid Caleb was shocked because I knew Travis and that you were my dad." He nods and smiles. "Isn't it cool? People recognizing you?" "Yea, pretty cool." Aunt Melissa gives me a granola bar for a snack. "Thanks." I eat the bar and Charles fills out the forms. "You will ride bus 654 at Alli's place ok?" I nod and throw away my trash. Once Charles finishes I put them in my bag and put the bag in my room. I lay on my bed till it's time for dinner. "What are we having?" I ask sitting at the table. "Tacos that my sister made." I smile and get my plate. "Yummy." We all eat and drink. "Kristen, you need to go to bed by ten ok? I'm going now." Aunt Melissa stands up and walks to the spare bedroom. "I need to edit so you can go to your room for three hours." I nod and we both stand up and walk to our rooms. I lay on my bed with Marley and I slowly fall asleep. First day of school, perfect.
