Chapter thirty-five

Kristen's POV: today is the first day with no babies and no Alli. She called this morning to tell us she arrived in Nevada around two last night. I really miss her but I don't know if Charles does. "Kristen! I'm going on a golf cart ride! Wanna come?" Charles yells from the pinball room I think. "Sure! I need to get dressed." I grab the first tank I see and some shorts. I put on my chucks, grab sunglasses and my wallet in case we go to Starbucks. I run out of my room and pass the twins room. I kind of miss them... "Where's Chico?" I ask Charles when I get to the garage and see the girls. "At Lauren's house." I nod and get in the golf cart. Marley sits on my lap and Zoey is in between Charles and I. "Want Starbucks?" Charles asks smiling and vlogging. "Sure," I hold up my Starbucks card that I got for my birthday, "on me." I smile at him. He grabs the card from me and pulls out his. "On me." I sigh and reach for my card. "I was trying to be nice." He grins and hands me my card. We go to Starbucks and he gets two iced coffees and some cookies. We drive around for a little bit then decide to head home. "Is this the reason Shay called you the other day?" I ask Charles as we go inside. "What do you mean?" "Is the reason Shay called you because of the separation?" He nods and opens the door for me. "And that Avery's mom hugged Alli?" He nods again and sits at the table. "So... What should we do?" I ask sitting next to him. "You have a lot of questions to ask don't you?" He asks laughing. "Yea... But. What should we do? It feels weird without Alli doesn't? Do you think she's having fun? Will she want to be in Datevs vlogs? What if she never-" I get cut off by Charles, "enough." I laugh at him and get my computer from my room. "What are you doing now?" "Looking up Datevs vlog." "It won't be up yet." "Yesterdays will be though." I look up ladiedottie on YouTube and find the newest video. 'Super secret special guest arrives' "found it." I click on the video and we watch it. "My super secret special guest has officially arrived," Datev says in the video, "we will have so much fun this week. We will go hiking, go to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and play in some snow. Ok bye guys." Datev says and the video ends. Their outro song plays and I close my laptop. "Are you going to watch Datevs video for a week?" I ask Charles. He nods and closes his computer. "I miss her already." Charles says sitting on the couch. "Me too... But we will have fun." I sit next to him and lay my head on his shoulder. "How about us and the dogs go to the beach tomorrow?" Charles asks. I nod and hug him. We decided to watch a movie then go swimming. "Come on Marley! Jump in!" Charles says holding the Go Pro. Zoey gets in on her second step and sits down. Marley jumps in when I throw the ball. I run and jump into the pool making a huge splash. Once a come up Charles faces the camera towards him with a frown on his face. "Hey Charles? You have something all over your face." I laugh because his face is soaked and so is the camera. I get out of the pool and he follows me out. He sets the camera down on the table and chases me around the pool. He grabs my waist and throws me in the pool and jumps in once I'm out of the way and does a cannonball. I laugh at him and we start splashing each other. The dogs keep barking at us and we keep splashing them. I decided to get out of the pool to get the Go Pro. "Charles catch!" I catch him off guard and throw the Go Pro into the water. He thought it was the camera at first an his eyes get wide. I start laughing so much. "Kristen! You just threw the camera into the pool!" He looks mad. "It. Was. The. Go. Pro." I say laughing after each word. He sighs with relief and gets out of the pool. "Your getting it now!" He yells chasing me around the pool and through the house. "What are you going to do? Throw me in the pool again?" "No, the lake." He laughs and chases after me. "The lake has the alligator though!" "No it's gone. They got it out when you were at the other lake with Avery. It's alligator free and safe to throw you in!" I run to my room and lock the door. "Your crazy! I'm not going in that lake!" I laugh and walk to my bathroom and lock that door. I hear my actually door open and laughing Charles. "This shit is real." He says with the camera in his hand and with his free hand he tries to get me. "Loser!" I yell running past him and I run to the kitchen. Bad idea. I'm on one side of the counter and he's on the other. I go left which leads me to the pinball room. He follows and puts the camera on the pinball machine. "Come here Kristen!" He yells laughing. I'm trapped in the room so I give up. I sit on the floor and cross my arms. "You win." I say and he walks closer to me. Right when he's in front of me I stand up and kick the back of his knee which makes him fall. I laugh and run to the pool and jump in. He finally gets up and goes into the pool. "Kristen you made a mistake." He says cracking up. I swim in circles and he grabs my ankle. "Got you." I laugh and he picks me up and carries me out of the water. His arms are under my arms and he opens up the door so we are outside. He walks over to the lake with me in his arms and he dips my feet in. "That's freezing!" I lift up my legs to my body. He puts me lower so I'm in it up to my waist in it. "It's really deep!" I say kicking my feet. He laughs and lifts me up out of the lake. "If I was mean I would just drop you in." He says putting me down on the grass. "If I was mean I would push you in." I say laughing. I lean up towards the lake and splash some water at him. "That's freezing!" He says laughing. "Exactly!" I say running into the house. I grab a bucket on my way in and fill it up with water and ice. I run back outside. "Kristen, don't you dare!" He says holding his hand up. "I'm just getting you back." I throw the the ice water at him and his face expression is hilarious. "Kristen! Wanna hug?" I shake my head and he squeezes me. "Ok let's get changed. No more fun right now." I sigh and go to take a shower. After the shower I leave my hair wet and go get changed. I go to the living room and sit on the couch. "Have fun?" Charles asks. " yep a ton." He smiles and brings his laptop to the couch. "Just uploaded the whole thing." He says showing me the video. "Good." I laugh and roll my eyes. " I had fun. I needed to forget about everything and that helped a ton." I hug him and he kisses my head. "Dinner?" He asks me. "Peanut butter and jelly." I say laughing. "Pizza?" I nod and we order pizza to eat. After we eat I call Alli while Charles watches Datevs vlog.

"Hey! Saw the vlog today. Having fun?"

"Yes so much fun. How about you?"

"Oh we went hiking today and it was the best! I had so much fun Datev made a snow angel in her sports bra and shorts."

"Yep I know Charles is watching the vlog now."

"Haha. Miss you! Can I talk to Charles?"

"Yea bye."

I hand the phone to Charles and sit back on the couch. I wait for Charles to finish talking to her. But it never happens. Once he hangs up I take my laptop and phone into my room and I charge my phone. "NIGHT!" I yell before turning off the lights. "Night Kristen!" Charles says then I hear a door close. I roll on m back and the darkness takes over so I can sleep.
