Percy POV:
The menu was dull, and honestly I didn't care what I ate, so I ordered the most I could for what spare change I had.
The waitress left, and I looked around. There were a few older couples and a few adults sipping on coffee, nothing seemed out of order. I allowed myself to relax, something I hadn't done since that night at the cemetery. That got my thoughts moving again, unfortunately. Where did those government agents go? It's been less than a day, but I still find it strange that they weren't anywhere to be found before I left.
I glanced around again, nervous. It's not that I was worried about them, more so that they'd be monsters. Even if they weren't, what if they were trying to detain me and some Greek thing came and interrupted, how could I explain that? The mist can't hide everything. I'm starting to understand why the gods rarely come down from Olympus or their respective palaces and domains.
I walked over and picked up a newspaper off the pile sprawled across an empty table.
Sitting back down, I flipped it open and read through anything I deemed important. Such as the comics, sports, and front page.
Eventually the waitress came back over with a plate piled with food in hand. She set it down and I barely had time to thank her before the aroma of fresh fries and a warm steak sandwich washed over me. I would've preferred a nice pizza, but this was almost as good. Mouth watering, I dug in.
My stomach was unused to eating so well after only eating small snacks throughout the days, so I had to stop a couple of times to make sure it didn't come back up.
Yet another thing I mentally added to my list of 'Things to get a grip on,' which was starting to get pretty long.
Finishing, I flagged the waitress over and asked her to pack up the extra few things I'd ordered for later.
I left, and with my food secure in the passenger seat, drove off, continuing down to the cabin I haven't seen in years.

AN: Sorry for the rather short chapter but I felt I had to update.
I'm also so overjoyed that almost 800 people have read this book! Although some aren't up to date, or even still reading, it amazes me to think that that many people were willing to sample my writing! I'd like to once again thank everyone who has read, voted and commented. It's been less than a month and I didn't expect to get this many reads within a year, or ever. So thanks!
