Percy Jackson and The Avengers Crossover

Chapter 19

Steve POV:
I was heading down to that cabin. The one with our 'target'. No matter Fury's orders, I just couldn't see why this boy- barely an adult- should be brought down by a dozen lethal agents, I was hoping I could talk to him. Just talk, no games, no surprises.
I had seen the footage, files, and news reports, and obviously something is going on, but he was just a kid, he couldn't be the mastermind, right? He was probably blackmailed or born into whatever is happening, that's what I want to believe, and so that's what I am believing.
I did have a stunning weapon with me though, just in case.
Pulling up beside the building, I could see Perseus' car, sitting in the driveway, still warm. He couldn't have been here long.
I parked my motorbike and approached the door. I pressed my ear to it, just to listen in and try to get a sense of the environment there, to make sure I wasn't walking in on a fight.
Faint murmuring, but fast and joyful. Seems okay.
There was no doorbell, so I knocked gently, tapping the door three times.
I heard a laugh, and then the door opened. A black haired male maybe a little older than Perseus was revealed in the doorway, he had a mischievous glint in his sky blue eyes, that faded when he spotted me.
"Hey Percy, do you know this guy?" He turned and called into the room.
As he turned I caught a glimpse into what I assumed was the main living space. There were three others sitting amongst two couches, one Percy, one the black haired boy I had seen in the film from Mr.Blofis' holding cell, and one golden haired person whose back was turned. They all seemed to be friends.
Perseus stood and walked up beside the man, who had refused to take a step back. He was in front of Perseus, like a protector.
"No," he turned to me, guarded, "Who are you? Why are you here?"
"I came to warn you-" I started but was cut off by the dark haired boy still on the couch.
"Percy, I saw him walking around when I was at that government place,"
Perseus hand went to his pocket, and he glared,
"You said you came to warn me. About what? I saw your friends on the highway already," he spat the word friends like he hated their very existence.
"Listen, I'm risking jail for this. Can I come in? They're going to be here soon,"
The black haired man glanced at Percy, who nodded and they moved back, allowing me slight entrance. I stepped in and they closed the door.
I suppose the others on the couch took it as their cue to enter the conversation, because they stood and walked over.
I got a better look at the golden haired person whose back was previously turned.
He had striking blue eyes, and his lips parted in a slight snarl, revealing blinding white teeth.
All three others were standing slightly in front of Perseus, who didn't look too happy about it, and shoved through them to the front.
"Okay, there, now give me answers,"
I sighed, "Fine, in about fifteen minutes there will be dozens of agents surrounding this house, and they don't need you alive."
Perseus  glanced and the others and smirked slightly, as if sharing an inside joke.
"Won't be a problem, now who are you?"
"Steve Rodgers, also known as Captain America,"
"Ah, the one worthy of Athena's blessing I see,"
Chuckled the black haired man, while the others stared at him.
"What, wisdom and war. Both of them,"
At this point I was confused beyond belief, but Perseus waved it off with a shrug.
"Okay, now everyone in the car, we may not be in danger of death, but we can still be detained,"
They all walked outside, but Perseus and I.
"And I'm supposed to...?"
"Ugh, you wanna come too? Fine. Get in,"
"Perseus-"
"Percy,"
"Okay, Percy, I was wondering what in the world is going on?"
He stood there a moment, staring, contemplating.
"I'll introduce you to my friends. After that it's up to you. You're worthy of Athena's blessing, figure it out."
And he walked out the door, leaving me baffled, but following.

AN: I'm so sorry I haven't updated! My family extended our trip so I was without wi-fi for a few extra days. I'm home now though so updates will resume as normal. Besides the double chapters today!
