Percy POV:
I had walked in the door of my mom's cabin, and was immediately ambushed by Apollo. He ran to us from the couch, where he had been sitting, and pulled Nico and I into a bone-crushing hug.
"Apollo, you're killing us," Nico squeaked.
"Oh sorry Nico," He said and freed us from his vice. "Anyway, Percy what took so long? You were supposed to be here hours ago!"
"Sorry, I was kinda tailed by those government people and had to take a slight detour,"
"By slight," Nico chimed in, "He means like six hours,"
I gasped, faking offence, "That's an exaggeration."
"Not by much," He grumbled, then walked into the kitchen.
"What happened with -"
"Um," Nico backed up a few steps and out of the kitchen, "Is Hermes supposed to be here? Cause he's in the kitchen."
Apollo spoke, "He's not. But he came anyway."
We heard a yell from the kitchen, "Olympus is boring closed off!"
I chuckled, "Well I'm not to opposed more company, I'll explain what happened."
A few minutes later, we were all piled onto the couches and I dove into my story, it was brief, as not much had happened, but then Nico told his. Including the reasoning and overall information he got from the documents at the facility.
Nico was just finishing up as a knock sounded at the door. Hermes was up and opening it before anyone else could blink.
It was someone I didn't know, Nico recognized him however, and leaned over to whisper,
"Be careful, he works for the government."
I instantly didn't like him, though I knew better than to judge someone by their job.
He went on about the agents I already knew would be here soon, and ended up tagging along with us when we got into the stolen car and drove off. The man, Steve, had also wanted to know what was going on. I couldn't answer that. Not even if I wanted too. I'd been faking a smile for too long, and my self-control was straining. If I had to teather my emotions and talk about what was happening, past and present, the thin leash would snap.
I shook my head, I had a plan. I had to be sharp, my head free of fog.
We were driving away from the cabin, sure, but I had no intention of getting away.
