It took a whole 3 days for me to get over my Friday-cold. So, by the time I felt better again, it was time for class.
Just my luck.
Kevin's friend still hasn't bothered to make contact with me, but even if he did I wouldn't know. Something tells me it's Eric, Kevin's best friend. Good ol' Eric.
I can't think about it now, though, because I'm in the middle of class.
"Social Media. Why do we have it?" Mr Green asked, scanning the classroom to find a victim.
Please don't pick me. Please.
"Jackson? What do you think?"
Yes!
"We have social media so we can connect with others without physically having to be there. I think it's a great step for human technology. Years ago we had to communicate through letters that take days if not weeks to process, but now with the click of a button we can communicate within seconds," Jackson said, earning a few grunts in agreement.
Not from me.
"I don't think so, I think we have social media to portray only the good aspects of our life. Almost as if it's a competition on who has the best life, who has more friends, who looks the best... we call it social media to be more social but we're the loneliest we've ever been...even if we can communicate faster now, the sort of things we talk about are hardly important, we disregard the thoughtfulness because of the efficient way to communicate," I unconsciously blurted out, which caused half of the class to nod their heads, even the Professor.
"Nice observation, Mark," the Professor commented, before moving on to some writing media called 'Wattpad' and how certain books can portray certain feelings and play with emotions (he used the example of 'Falling for Jackson Wang' by some author, I forgot the name, and honestly it's the worst title I've ever heard). I didn't really know what he was babbling on about.I did know that Jackson was quiet for the rest of the lesson, when he'd usually be chirpy and wouldn't shut up, which I thought was extremely strange because he's Jackson Wang. The already popular boy, who didn't even need to do anything before everyone knew his name (everyone being a good 100 people because he's only been known for a week or two).
I shouldn't feel bad, I'm sure Jackson is fine.
He's fine.
He's not very talkative lately, but he's fine.
At least, I hope so.
--------
"Mark?" I heard a voice behind me as I walked out of the classroom, glad my Monday class was finally over.
I glanced behind me and it was Jackson.
Jackson?
"What do you want?"
"I just wanted to-"
"Sorry, don't care." I smirked, refusing to make eye contact with him and continued to walk to the elevator.
"Look- I know you don't like me-"
"Actually, I hate you, but go on."Make him want me. Don't give in, yet.
"-okay fine. I know you hate me but I just wanted to say-"
"You had your chance to say something. Back in Korea, but we all know how that turned out-"
"I miss you," Jackson blurted out.
"Excuse me?" I scoffed, stopping in my tracks and staring at him.
"N-nothing. Don't worry about it-"
"You're pathetic Jackson Wang, absolutely pathetic. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going back to my dorm. If you ever cross me again I'm going to get my selection of friends to deal with you, because frankly I don't ever want to see you again."
