"Ma we home!" Cameron and Kameryn walked into his mother's house. They just flown in from out of state. It had been a while since they were last in town, do to his activities, so he fully expected his mom to be upset with him.

Jackie, his mother, came out the kitchen with her hands on her hips. Most mother's would probably greet their son that they haven't seen in a while with hugs and kisses. Not her though. She popped him upside the head with a stern look on her face.

"It's been five months, two weeks, and six days! Where have you been little boy?"

Cameron rubbed the back of his head then he ran his fingers through his long jet black dreads. The hit would've hurt a whole lot more if he didn't have a full head of hair. He would tell her that, but then she'd just pick another spot.

"Not like you were counting though, huh?" He chuckled. "But umm, I've been busy, okay? You just gonna ignore your beautiful grand baby though?"

She turned her attention to Kameryn, who was just standing there with a smile on her face. She blinked her beautiful brown eyes a few times.

"Hi grandma!"

Jackie gave her a big, literal breath taking hug. "Oh hey gorgeous grand baby! I'm so glad you came to see me."

Cameron folded his arms across his chest with a frown on his face.

"Damn ma. You wasn't even happy to see me but you happy to see her. It's because she's cute, isn't it?"

Jackie let go of Kameryn then popped him a second time. "Oh boy you are so dramatic. Of course in happy to see my Cammy."

He was about to say something, but his brother and sister, Ted and Maxine, came out of the kitchen. Maxine ran over to Cameron and gave him a big hug.

"Hey bro! How have you been?!"

"Finally! Someone who really misses me."

That caused everyone to laugh. After they got past the greetings and getting settled in a guest bedroom, Jackie took Kameryn into her office. She and Kameryn sat at her sewing machine as she tried to teach Kameryn a simple way how to make a skirt.

While they were doing so, Maxine and Cameron came in. "I am so glad Cam is here! He volunteered to help me paint and decorate and move stuff into my house. Isn't that right little brother?"

"It was either that or you bullied me into it." He mumbled. "Why not get Ted to help? He just watchin' the Falcons get they a... butt beat."

"I 'asked' you though. And plus you know he on house arrest." She popped him upside the head. "Don't try to be funny."

Cameron huffed. Women always seem to win disagreements with him. He was about to say something, but he simply hugged and kissed his daughter then walked out the room. Maxine happily followed.

For the next hour or two Jackie and Kameryn experimented with fabric. When they were tired of doing that, they went into the den to watch tv with Ted.

"Oh shoot. I forgot what I was going to go to the grocery store to pick up a few things. You and your dad sidetracked me baby girl. Do you want to come with me?"

Ted put his arm around Kameryn.

"I'm capable of watching my niece for a while ma." He switched the channel to cartoons. "See I'll even let her watch her favorite show."

It wasn't her favorite show, but she didn't even bother saying anything.

"Okay good. Well I will be back in about an hour. Be good kids!"
