Chapter 29- ErROr dETecteD

Rose's P.O.V

They slowly hugged back. 

"He's not gone... He'll always be with you, right here." I say, pointing to their chest. Nodding slowly, they let a few tears escape. 

"It's okay to cry.. go ahead, let it out. " I reassure them. Chara shakes their head. 

"If I do, I won't be able to stop. " 

"If you say so... but it isn't good to keep things bottled up inside.." 

They roll their eyes, "Stop trying to help me, I don't need or want it" 

"whatever you say..." I look away, noticing the grey flower from before. 

'I wonder.. what happened to it..' 

"How am I supposed to know? This is YOUR Mindscape, after all" 

"I wasn't asking you.."

"Well, Too bad. I answered anyways"

"Why are you so mad all of a sudden?"

"...That's none of your business" 

I sigh, 'They're not going to tell me anything..' 

"You're right. I'm not" 

"You're only making this even more difficult than it already is..."

"Tch, Like I care"  Walking over to a rock, Chara lost their balance, falling to the ground.

Chara

I open my eyes. 

'Why can't I see anything..' Growling, a small light ignited. 

In a flash, I saw a figure that was hard to make out. 

That smell, it reeks. I gag a bit at the stench. 

fresh blood.

It stepped closer, and grinned, sending chills up my spine. 

"H-Heya kiddo, did ya miss me?~" 

'Sans..' 

"Not quite, try again ~" He was glitching, and the colors were so.. off. 

'Who is this Sans rip-off?' 

He scowled. 

I giggle, "Aww, did I make it mad?~" 

Strings wrap around me, slowly lifting myself off the ground. 

"Put me down!" 

"Hm... I'll think about it. " 

I tried to kick him, the strings tightened. 

He cupped my cheek and chuckled, "Y-You're a feisty one. ain'tcha?" 

Spitting in his face, he growled, making the strings even tighter. 

The pressure of them made me lightheaded. 

'Stupid human body..' 

I force myself to stay awake. but to no avail, I pass out. Again. 

"I'll see you soon... Real soon."

Rose 

"Chara!" I checked for a pulse. 

'They're breathing..' I sigh in relief, looking at them. 

Chara's eyes shot open, making me jump. 

"Are you okay..?!" I stand up, holding out my hand for them to take. 

"I said this before. I don't need your help, nor want it!" Chara growls.

Staying quiet, I notice a small cut on their leg. 

"Chara.. your leg.." 

They roll their eyes, "It's just a small cut, no big deal. Stop being so pitiful, it'll get you killed" 

"..." I sit down and hug my knees. A figure ran across the field. 

'Who and what is that..?' Standing up again, I start to walk towards it. 

  "Rose, don't ever go to them. Even if it's an old friend. Something is here and I don't think it wants to play nice." Chara hissed. 

"Okay.." When I glance back over at the figure, it's gone. 

'Strange..'
