Chapter 23- Losing my Sanity

Rose's POV

I sit in complete darkness, only hearing the telivision's static. My head aches as I clench my head. 

"Make it stop! Making it stop!" I yell to nobody. My body feel's a gust of cold air, like there's someone or something here. 

'Rose, don't think like that, it could be anything.' But something was telling me otherwise, that there was something here. The telivision turns off. I turn my head over to the commotion, reaching out for anything. 

I felt a knitted sweater, and looked up, seeing red glowing eyes. I fall on the ground with a thump. "What do you want from me...?" I shakily say. They smirk and kneel down to me. 

"Oh I thought you'd never ask! it's simple, really. You let me take control over you and I use you to rule the surface and slaughter all monsters!~" The light flickers, showing a young child. They have short brown hair, and a green and yellow stripped sweater, stained in blo

"No! I won't let you!" I stand up. 

"I thought I wouldn't be doing this the hard way, but I guess that's how it will be." They pull out their knife and smile. I feel a liquid dripping down my chin and taste something bitter. 

I wipe my nose and notice, blood...? 

"Rose? Are you okay in their?" Y/N calls from behind the door. 

"Yeah! Just fine..." I turn back at the child, their still standing there, watching me. 

"I'll see you later Rose! bye bye~" I feel my head start to ache again. the lights flicker once more and they're gone.

I step out of the kitchen and head for the living room. "SANS!" Papyrus groans. I hear a ringing sound in my ears. 

"What?" Sans growls, turning from the telivision to his angered brother. 

"GIVE ME THE REMOTE." Papyrus demands. 

"Why should I?" 

"BECAUSE I SAID SO, YOU IDIOT!" I sit over on the couch, ignoring the brother's fighting and watch whatever Sans turned on. My ears start ringing again. And it gets louder and louder. 

"Shut up! Shut up! Make it stop! MAKE IT STOP!" Toriel comes out of the kitchen and glares at the two. 

"Uh..... What's up with her?" Midnight says, dragging Y/N along with her. I get up and head to my room, tuning out all the noise. 

"Hey Rose~"They tease, sitting on my bed. 

"You! Why do you want to do this to me..?" I ask, a tear falling down my face. 

"Well, The name's Chara. I'm taking over your body because your soul is corrupted. And not as determined like Y/N's. You are the perfect host for me to use. It's quite interesting, actually. You being one of Gaster's experiments. " Chara explains. 

"How do you know that!?" I hate when people bring up him.. I bet Chara knew I would react like this. They're trying to mess with me. 

'What ever happens, I can't let them get to me.'

G Sans' POV 

It's been what? 3 days since Y/N and midnight got dragged into the portal? I pace back and fourth. I'm loosing my sanity. I have heard nothing from Alphys, Undyne, or Shadow ever since that argument started back at the lab. 

I storm out of my room, not caring if I slam my door. 

"SANS..? ARE YOU OKAY?" Papyrus comes up to me. 

"Just fine." I answer quickly, grabbing out a cigarette to smoke. 

"Do you want anything to eat..?" He asks, his voice being more softer than usual. 

"No thanks Paps" I breathe in the cigarettes smoke and exhale, smoke going out into the air. 

'I really hope I don't lose it'

Y/N's POV

Rose was talking to someone earlier. She sounded scared, upset... I hope she's okay. We need to head out to Alphy's lab and hopefully be able to go back. 

"Rose! Come on! We're going to head out to Snowdin today!" I run into her room. She gives me a smile and has a locket around her neck. "That's a very pretty locket you got there." I notice the initials W.D. on it.

"Come on guys, we're going to be left behind!" Midnight yells from the living room. I quickly grab flowey's pot and peek back inside Rose's room. 

"Are you coming?" I snap Rose out of her thoughts. 

"Yeah... I'm coming.." She passes by me. She seems upset, I wonder why. I shake it off and run to the others. 

"I am going to miss you so much! Stay safe my children!" Toriel smiles. 

"We'll miss you too. It was nice meeting you Toriel." I hug her. She's in shock for a moment but hugs me back. 

"COME ON! LET'S GO!" Papyrus yells from down stairs. 

We open the door leading out of the Ruins. This reminds me of when I left Toriel in the other dimension. The tall trees block out of the view of the sky. We come to an abrupt stop.

"Why did we stop..?" I whisper to Midnight.  

"I don't know..." She replies. 

"STAY CLOSE TOGETHER." Papyrus walks across the unsteady bridge. I swallow the lump in my throat and continue to walk across like Papyrus. After everyone crosses, we come to see a stand, it's broken and could fall at any moment. We start to walk through the forest again.

On the way to Snowdin, Papyrus and Sans kept fighting about the usual. To be honest, It doesn't bother me now that I know they fight all the time about the smallest things. Midnight starts to shiver, and turns into a wolf. 

Toriel gave us sweaters, yes. But their not the best. I've seen they've been worn out. I see flowey on my arm, shivering as well. 

"Don't worry, we'll be there soon." I say to him, making Flowey feel a little bit better. "Where are we?"

I see a sign painted in bold red letters "WELCOME TO SNOWDIN". I hide behind Papyrus, so no monster will suspect us.

"This is our house. Try not to burn it down while your at it." Sans said, Walking up to his room. 

"YOU ALL SLEEP DOWN HERE." Papyrus motions to the couch, which isn't in the best shape. 

"Thank you Papyrus.." He rolls his eyes and heads upstairs to get some rest. 

"who's going to take the couch?" Midnight curls up into a ball, yawning. 

"You two can take the couch, I'll take the floor." I offer. They both nod and lay out some fluffy pillows and blankets. 

"Night guys.."
