Genesis' POV

November 2, 2016

We've been in this hospital almost 36 full hours, and still no baby.  I've barely slept and am basically bored out of my mind.  Thank God that when I was putting a bag together I brought my phone charger!

All for now, and updates to come,
Genesis

I posted the quick little note to my Tumblr account and then leaned back in the hospital chair.  We weren't even allowed to go see mom and make sure she was alright!  Stella and Tori were currently asleep which left me alone with my thoughts as various family members paced the hospital waiting room.

Wen Holly came to get me I literally had enough time to get out of my Halloween costume and pack a bag.  So I have been in the same outfit for almost two whole days.

Grandma and Grandpa Lawrence were here, but they seemed far more patient than me.  I wanted to know what was going on!  She had been in labor for nearly two whole days!  I was getting worried, and wondered if they would have to just cut her open, and that's a gross thought to me.

I had my script downloaded in my phone, so I started to go over my lines.  I'm in the movie basically from beginning to end so I have a lot to learn.  It sucks that I leave in January so the baby will barely be two months old when I leave.  At least I get weekends off since I'm a child actor.  I stay on set for about four months living there, but get to spend the weekends at home if I choose.  And I will always choose Yes!

I was only on page three, when the doctor came out from the back and called out, "Those with Miss J. Lawrence?"

I basically shot up with Grandma Lawrence and Uncle Ben, while Blaine and Grandpa tried to wake Tori and Stella.  "Any news?" I asked impatiently.  "As of three minutes ago, you all have welcomed a beautiful and healthy little girl to the world.  Would you like to see them?" He asked.

Stupid question dude.

I opened the door to my Mom's room and I saw them together.  Mom had her wrapped in a light pink blanket and had her close to her chest.  Mom looked up and smiled at us all in the doorway.

"Come in and meet her." She said kinda quiet.  My little sister was asleep and obviously did not want to be awoken.  "Hi momma." I told her as I came over to her bed.  "Hi." She whispered.

"Everyone, meet Tegan Hope Lawrence." Mom said as she tilted her arm to show off her little miracle.  "She gorgeous Jen." Everyone around us said.

"So now she's the baby and I'm not anymore." Stella said with a smile.  She hated being considered the baby of the family we had, but now we had a real baby of the clan we called family.

"C-can I hold her?" I asked carefully.  "Of course." Mom said as she carefully lifted my sister's sleeping body up so I could take hold.  I held Tegan carefully and almost started crying.  She was so pretty and small.

"Hi Tegan, I'm your big sister Genesis.  I'm gonna make sure you can keep your head up around all the craziness we call life.  I love you sis." I cried quietly.  I heard people 'awe'-ing me but I didn't care.

I gave her back to Mom, who let other people hold the newest addition to the Lawrence family.  She was so quiet and unlike other babies who would normally be screaming, but she was perfect cause she was ours.

"She looks like Genesis." Uncle Blaine said as he held Tegan.  "That's impossible, I'm not biological." I told him laughing.  "No really.  Look, she has the same eye and nose shape.  And I would bet money she ends up being a blonde!" He told me.

Mom looked over at Tegan then me and said, "Wow, like really.  She does!" I rolled my eyes, but when I looked at Tegan she did look a little like me.  I had seen photos when I was a baby and they looked a little similar.  Even down to the white hat and pink bow.

The doctor came into the room with a Polaroid camera and asked, "You all want the picture together?" My mom nodded and we gave Tegan back to Mom while we gathered around the hospital bed.

"What's her name?" The doctor asked sweetly.  "Tegan Hope Lawrence." My mom said quietly as she gazed down on her beautiful little girl.

"Say Tegan!"

We quietly chanted the baby's name as the camera shutter clicked.  It produced a picture of our strange, unconventional, happy, weird, and loving family.

And it was perfect.
