Genesis' POV

Ever since Castle ended I haven't been doing a whole lot in the acting industry, and my agent Angela wanted to change that.  Which is why I'm at this movie audition today.  She said that since I'm not making a whole lot of on screen appearances, I might get lost in the industry like other young actors.  So, today I'm auditioning for this movie called 'A Summer To Remember'.

The part I'm auditioning for is for a twelve year old girl named Kallyn.  Her parents leave for the summer and she is left at home with her Aunt Ashley that she hasn't seen in years.  That's all I was really told about the movie, plus I only had a tiny portion of the script for the audition.

When Angela and I pulled up to the audition, I was nervous to say the least.  All these other girls that were auditioning all stared at me wi th cold eyes.  They knew who I was...great.  I wish Mom could have been here with me cause that would totally ease my nerves, but she's at home getting Stella and Tori ready for a photoshoot they have later for Target.

I continued to read the lines out loud with Angela and she kept telling me I would do fine.  And I kept that in mind, until my number was called for the audition.  At that point I was freaking out.  I checked my audition bag to make sure I had everything, and dusted off my jeans in case anything was on them.

"Okay, go kill it!" Angela told me before I was pushed into the audition room and tried not to pass out.  I guess they already had some of the leads cast, and I was now in an audition room with director Patricia Riggen, Owen Wilson, and Margot Robbie!  You know, these were only people that I have been watching in movies for years and totally loved them as actors!

'Alright G, calm down.  Don't ruin this before you even start it.'

"Hi, I'm Patricia, and you are?" I was asked as I entered with my resume.  "Genesis Carlie Lawrence." I said confidently.  Mom always taught me to saw your middle name in an audition cause it sounds more professional.  "Nice to meet you.  These are two of our main adult leads, Owen Wilson as Ethan Todd, and Margot Robbie as Aunt Ashley.  You will do two different readings, one with each actor, and then you are welcome to showcase any other additional talents you have." Patricia told me.  I nodded and told her alright.

I did my reading with Owen first.  I did my best to put the right emotions and emphasis on the right words.

Owen- "You're going to love your Aunt.  You adored her when you were little."

Genesis- "I'm sure I did, but I was three last time I saw her!  I idolized Elmo when I was three."

Owen- "Come on. Cut her some slack.  She's my sister so she's gotta be pretty cool, right?"

Genesis- "Yeah.  I wouldn't push it that far if I were you."

Owen- "Haha.  Very funny.  But seriously, at least give her a chance when you meet her.  Who knows, you may still totally love her.  I know she loves you."

Genesis- "Okay.  I'll try and give her a chance."

That was the first line reading and from what I could tell, it went good!  The reading with Margot was no different.  It just seemed like as soon as I fell onto character, I was on the mark!

"That was incredible.  You have a very good character chemistry." Margot complimented me. "Thank you!" I quipped, excited that she found me as a good character.  "Alright now, any other talents or interesting things about yourself?" Patricia asked.

"Well I'm a singer and competitive dancer." I said, seeing if that was of any use to the role I was hoping for.   "Excellent, wow like to sing and then dance for us?"  Patricia asked.

"Yes.  I can sing a song, and then after that if I could just have a minute to change into something to dance in..." I  trailed off.  "Of course.  Whenever your ready." I was told and then cleared my throat before picking my go to song for singing.

"Okay.  That. Was.  AMAZING!" Owen told me and of course I started smiling like an idiot.  "Thank you." I told him, still smiling.  "I gotta agree, that was beautiful.  You really made me think about my mom." Margot said to me.  I just kept smiling, and took each compliment.

After all the accolades, I went to go change into my dance clothes I always kept on me for auditions.  I knew what solo I would show them.  It was my favorite solo from this season's competition.

"Can you start this?" I went up to Patricia and asked her after I had changed

"Can you start this?" I went up to Patricia and asked her after I had changed.  "Yeah, just tell me when." She said.  Everyone stepped in front of the tables to watch my solo since a lot of it was floor work.

When I finished my solo, I gracefully stood and turned to the adults watching.  Jaws were agape and expressions were priceless.  "Pardon my French, but holy shit!  That was amazing!" Margot exclaimed.  I smiled and thanked her.  "Yeah, like, how does your body do that?" Owen chuckled.  "Talent I guess.  And practice." I said chuckling.

"Well thank you so much Miss Lawrence.  That was an absolutely amazing audition!  We will call you within a few weeks if you get the part were you will be further updated on the movie and role." Patricia told me.

"Alright, thank you all so much." I said as I shook everyone's hand and pulled on a pair of black leggings over my leotard.  As I left the room all I could hear was great things about my audition.  I had a pretty good feeling about today.  But even if I don't get the role today, I still know I left a ton of people in awe of my talent.
