He huffed, and entered the bathroom without another hurtful word to spew at me.I got off of his large bed, immediately rushing out of his room and into mine that was on the other section of the hallway. Once in my room, I sprawled myself on my bed, wiping away the tears from before. I wouldn't cry anymore. I was already feeling like my tough girl image had slipped away in the 3 days I've been here.
After sometime of calming myself, and trying my best to clear my mind, I decided I would go shower and see where the day goes from there. Perhaps Mirren would visit, or even Jax.
I jumped into the nice glass shower, sighing in relief to see that there were packages of unopened shampoos, conditioners and soaps waiting for me to use. Opened the coconut shampoo first, dowsing my hair with it before scrubbing. Then I conditioned my hair with the corresponding conditioner and lastly washing my body with some mango and strawberry scented soap.
I stepped out of the shower, brushed my teeth and put my hair in a ponytail before stepping into the main bedroom again and heading into the walk in closet.
You see, I don't know why I did this. I knew I had no clothes in here and I knew there were no clothes in here at all. But to my surprise, my duffel bag was waiting in the corner of the closet.
I opened the big black bag, noticing how my money wasn't in here. Where did they fucking put it? My debit card was still in the front pocket but majority of my money was in the cash that I carried. Why was I so dumb?
I groaned in annoyance. I needed to get my shit and leave this place soon. But I couldn't, something in me fought. This was the only place with actual shelter. And food. And a mate. I wouldn't leave yet, but there were no guarantees that I wouldn't leave at all.
I put on underwear and some plain black leggings with a long white shirt that comes down to my mid thighs. Thankfully, I had a black bra so it wouldn't show through my shirt.
Just then, I heard a knock on the door, disrupting me from my thoughts about clothing.
"Jax," I said, opening the door. He doesn't bother being invited in, he just walks in and sits on my bed.
"Eve," he responded. "I've come to rescue you."
I raised my eyebrow at him. "What ever do you mean?"
"What I mean is," he started now playing toss and catch with my pillow, "you're depressing. You need someone to help you not be so dead inside."
"Oh please," I scoffed but I knew that by the way I acted, I could see how it could be interpreted like that. "What are your plans?"
This picture was so...odd. Jax was definitely an intimidating man. When he found me on their territory, I was indeed intimidated but I just didn't let things like that show. He was tall, broad shouldered and undeniably handsome with dark hair and stormy grey eyes. He just didn't seem like the type of person that would warm up to you so quickly or even warm up to you at all.
"I'm taking you to a secluded lake with Mirren."
"Don't you have better things to do?" I questioned warily. "You're the Beta of this pack, you don't have like papers to sign or rogues to kill?"
"Not currently," he said, his expression slightly becoming more stiff and hard. "Kal seems to be on overdrive doing everything."
