"And your solution is..." I asked, surprised to see that he had even been thinking about it.

"It's a surprise," he said, his eyes looking down at me with an unknown gleam. "We can go now."  He stood up and started on his way to the door.

"Wait," I asked before he could open the door. "Did you seriously bring us into this damn room just to tell me that your solution to heat is a surprise?" I asked, a bit bitter. My life was on the line and he was playing childish games.

"Yes," he said, not even sparing me a glance. "Now get out of the way before the door hits you."

I rolled my eyes as I stepped out of the path of the door and followed closely behind Kal. We both walked into the elevator in silence.

"My heat is in like three days, Kal," I hissed. "Could you please tell me what the plan is?"

"You find out soon, Eve. Just calm down," he said as the door to the elevator opened.

"Calm down?" I hissed again. And Kal quickly shut the elevator door before any pack members could hear. "You want me to calm down?"

"Eve, just ch-"

"My whole damn life is on the line," I groaned, trying not to let my anger sink through. "I nearly died a month ago because of you."

"Don't remind me," he growled, this time his eyes challenging mine. I wasn't scared of him, though I probably should've been. He was much taller than me, much stronger than me, and overall just had more power.

"If I have to go through another heat, the way I did last time," I said not breaking eye contact with him. "I just want you to know that I will be guaranteed death and it will be guaranteed be your fault."

And just like that the elevator door clicked open again and Kal lead the way to his car without another word.

Stupid Kal.

No words were spoken as he drove the car in the direction I thought was home. It was when we didn't take the right exit I become curious.

"Are we stopping to get food?" I asked, looking over at him.

"No," he said minimally, not even sparing me a glance.

"Then where are we going?"

"You'll find out, Eve." He said. "Just trust me, okay?" He broke contact with the road for a second to look at me in my eyes.

"Okay," I said. "I'll trust you." I continued to look out the passenger sides window. "But just this once."

I saw a small smile form on Kal's face, as he drove. And I couldn't help but want to stare. He didn't smile often but when he did, it was so attractive.

The rest of the car ride continued to be quiet, mostly because we were driving in an unfamiliar area and apart of me liked the silence I and enjoyed taking everything in.

It was about an hour later, when we pulled into the airport area and I was confused.

"Why are we here?" I said, watching him get a parking spot for the car, inside.

"For fun," he said pulling into a spot successfully then turning off the car.

"But seriously."

"You'll see," he responded.

Kal got out of the car immediately making his was to the back where he proceeded to pull out two small suitcases.

I opened my door and met him behind the car.
