"Let's go to a party," Mirren suggested, her head laid on my lap as I ate some cereal in my bed regardless of the fact that it was 6pm in the evening. "And get shitfaced.""I don't want to get shit-faced drunk, but like normal drunk is fine with me," I said after swallowing my food. It had been 2 days since the lake day, and we had been cooped up for too long. Jax and Kal were actively busy and we were bored. It's not like Kal could've made me not bored anyway, but Jax could've.
"Then let's go?" She asked, almost prepared to leave right then.
"What?" I asked, a little confused whether she was being serious or not.
"I mean, let's go."
"You already have a party in mind?" I questioned as she sat up and looked at me.
"I've been wanting to go to this party for weeks," she explained.
"Well shit, let's go," I said getting up. "It's not like I have anything better to do."
"Okay, I'll go get my stuff and we can get ready together." She pushed her shoulder length black hair out of her face before making her way to the door.
I frowned. I forgot I didn't have many clothes.
"Mirren," I called as she was almost out the door. "I don't have party clothes."
Mirren only smirked and said, "don't worry, I'll bring you some."
I was going to question why she looked so suspicious but she was out the door already. But when she returned within a couple of seconds, I was confused again.
She let out a large sigh. "We have to ask Kal if we can go."
"What?" I asked. "Why?"
"There's no way in hell he'll let me take his mate to a party. He barely even allows me to go to party's."
"He already voiced that he doesn't want me as a mate anyway," I convinced. "Wait, Mirren? How old are you?"
"20, why?" She asked confused.
"Then how does Kal still have control over the parties you go to?"
"He's very protective about the things he loves. How old are you?"
"22," I said finishing my bowl of cereal. "You're not even allowed to drink yet."
She looked at me with pointed eyes. "Oh shut up. In dog years I am." She laughed while defending herself. "And they don't call me a bitch for no reason."
She left the room, and closed it with a light thud. I immediately took this time to hop in the shower before she got back. She had already showered but I hadn't since last night.
All of today, I had been thinking of Kal. There was an aspect of him that I just couldn't place. Like his soul was familiar with mine. Like he was familiar. God, the mating bond made things so hard.
I hopped out of the shower, then put a white robe on. I felt my wet feet touch the ground as I walked into the bedroom area where she was. Mirren was already waiting for me, her black locks of hair being straightened in the mirror.
"So did you ask?"
"Yeah," she started, redoing an area of not quite straight hair. "He said, and I quote, 'Take her to any fucking party, and I'll kill you.'"
"So we're not going then?" I frowned and plopped myself on the bed.
"No," she started, fiddling with her bangs, evening them out, "we're definitely going to this party. I hung your dress up in the closet."
