"Jax wants me?" I asked, with an eyebrow raised."Well I don't know for sure," he mumbled, "but he might as well with all the time he spends with you."
A light smile came onto my lips. "Jax doesn't like me like that...I can tell." It felt like it had been so long since I'd even talked to Jax, or Mirren as a matter of fact. What were they up to?
"Whatever," he said. "Let's just get this day started already. Go shower, and we'll get breakfast."
I nodded my head, already headed towards the washroom to scrub myself again, hoping that this time I could wash the feeling of grimy hands raking over my body.
It was long before I was finished showering (the grimy hands feeling still lingering on my body like an unwanted pest), and dressed. Kal had given me a pair of his sweatpants and a long sleeved shirt to wear regardless of how baggy they both looked on me.
"But Kal," I'd started, "I look like...a hobo."
A light smile graced his lips as he briefly looked me before turning his attention back to the road. "I don't think so."
"I do."
"You can change when we get back to the pack house."
"I'll still have to go out in public like this, people will think I'm-"
"Who cares what people think?"
I sighed, then looked over at Kal who was currently driving. I care what people think.
The rest of the car ride was silent, as we drove into town, the sun beaming in it's morning beauty. The air outside looked flight foggy and the grass had water droplets on them.
It wasn't long before Kal pulled into a drive through and ordered food for the both of us, food that I probably wouldn't be able to finish.
"I don't feel hungry, Kal," I said, bitting into a hash brown, and chewing it slowly.
"Your body needs the energy right now," he said turning out of the drive through and in the direction towards the pack house. "You need the energy right now."
I didn't say anything as I nodded then ate in silence, occasionally hearing the sips of Kal drinking his large coffee in between red lights.
When we pulled into the pack house, I couldn't help the feeling of dread that crept over my body, making my insides turn.
"You barely even ate," Kal said opening my passenger side door and peering into the bag of food that he got me.
"I felt sick," I said, barely managing to stand up out of the car. "Sorry."
"It's fine," he said already making his way towards the door. "You'll eat again afterwards."
I wanted to argue, but I didn't have the energy. Everything seemed to be draining me and there was nothing I could do if Kal had made up his mind. I was so damn tired there wasn't anything I wanted more than to go sleep, without the nightmares.
I could tell Kal was mind-linking with Jax the entire way up into his office, just by the hard expression on his face. Every now and then he'd glance at me from his desk, eyes slight softening before becoming hard again.
I choose to lay down on the sofa that was in his office while he sorted out pack things. When he was done talking to Jax, he spoke out to me.
"Are you okay?" He asked, looking at the stacked papers on his desk.
"I have a headache."
"You don't have to go downstairs with me if you're not feeling well," he said standing from his expensive leather office chair.
