Vladimir and Raven held Elise's hand. In that moment they felt protective of the little human. Why make humans so fragile?
Eleanor Ramirez bounced into the infirmary and the Dimitris bowed at the old vampire. They'd grown accustomed to her young appearance but an incident about 100 years ago taught the pair to truly never judge a book by its cover.
Dispite her appearance, Eleanor was older and wiser than the two. Granted she did have childish tendencies but the woman in a child's body was one to be feared.
"You really did a number on our little one." Eleanor read on Vladimir's noteboard. He had noticed Eleanor was yet to smile or show some sort of emotion. Instead Eleanor analysed the connection between the beloved and this strange human with the unusual tasting blood. It had taken all her strength not to feed from girl and she was one of the oldest vampires in this manor. Which was why she took it upon herself to follow Selene, a slightly younger vampire to the infirmary to ensure no harm would come to the girl.
"Leave us." Eleanor commanded
The pair tensed reluctant to leave Elise but fearful of Eleanor's reaction so in unison, they tentively shook their head no.
Eleanor frowned. She'd known of the only two members of the Lumiere clan and their weird tendencies but she learned a long time ago to not question their actions if she wanted to remain sane and not utterly confused.
She licked her lollipop and offered a lick to Dimitris. Sometimes Vincent accused her of never sharing to which she denies but she would we lying if she said she wasn't relived when the pair refused her offer. It was her lolly after all.
Elise had put up a good fight and Eleanor didn't want to hurt the girl as much as she had but she gave Eleanor a chase she had been denied for so long and Eleanor made the executive decision to take part in the hunt.
Elise had the same strength as that other girl Blair, Eleanor thought but the difference in there blood struck Eleanor as odd. Blaire fought with precision and experience and Elise fought on instinct and courage and both walked out champions in this challenge. Their similarities were uncanny and they now occupied a space in Eleanor's memories.
Eleanor would wait for Elise to wake up before she could get to know this human a bit more.

Blaire sat patiently across the seat from Linette, Vera, candice, Regina and a quiet girl by the name of faith who'd she had been the most surprised about. If her trial was anything like hers, she wondered what she had up her sleeve.
Linette had been bouncing her leg for the past half an hour probably waiting for her friend to walk in. She'd watched Linettes eyes glow in hope that it was Elise walking through the door to feel a new surge of disappointment when it turned out to be someone else.
Finally Derek and Alexander walked into the room with a smile.
"You girls have made it through and have been rewarded, by the king, a ball 5 days from now." Derek said
He gave the floor to Alexander who continued. "In those days you are adivsed to buy your dresses with the cards the king had provided for you."
Regina practically squealed. Blaire snorted thinking this was probably the only part of the experience that Regina knew well. "We will also be joined by all 8 of the district leaders to celebrate the coming of their new Queen. As for now you may return to your rooms."
The fire in Linettes eyes fizzled out with the realisation that Elise hadn't made it. Blaire did well hiding a small feeling of triumph. She'd pegged Elise as her real competition in the beginning.
Blaire left the crowd and went out into the garden. She had been spending some time here away from the drama in the manor. She felt a sudden rush in the air and she spun to look for the presence that had been trailing her since she stepped foot outside.
A tall man stepped out from the shadow looking quite frantic, it put Blaire a bit over the edge.
"You haven't been returning my calls."
Blaire folded her arms and rested on her left hip. She looked Edmund up and down taking in his manic look.
"We were not allowed our phones here. What are you even doing here?" She knew if Edmund was here it wasnt anything good. Even for her, the vampire made her skin crawl.
"Boss sent me to check up on you. You look well. Any news?"
Blaire took a step back To put some distance between them "no none. If there was I would have found a way to contact you."
"Without a phone?"
Blaire huffed. She began walking again knowing Edmund would follow her. Edmund tugged Blaire's arms and placed the phone in her palm.
"We knew you'd be in need of this."
Blaire looked around before pocketing the phone. She glanced at Edmund from her peripheral who was directly looking at her with a weird expression.
"What?"
"You smell different. Is that a hint of fear Blaire?"
Blaire grabbed the creature by his collar and dragged him up close. He laughed at her. "If you ever try and insult me again, I'll have you removed. I'm not the one, Edmund, to Fuck with."
Edmund chuckled and held his hand up in surrender. He desperately tried to quell the sudden rush of desire for Blaire that he'd kept hidden for a while now. Blaire's anger always stirred up something within him and he found himself desperate for her attention especially when she was fired up mostly because of him.
He dramatically dusted himself clean before he bowed a farewell to Blaire and disappeared into the shadows. Blaire didn't need to worry about whether Edmund would get caught. He was a slimy creature but the boss had hired him for a reason.
Blaire brushed off Edmund's last comment. He'd been wrong. Growing up she didn't even know what fear was.
She remembered the horrid timetable master had set for her. 5:00 sharp she had to be awake and dressed for a ridged training schedule she kept up until she finally turned 18.
She had always been masters favorite out of her 13 other sisters. She would do things the way master said, never had a rebellious streak in her bone unlike her sisters who were dealt with quickly.
Blaire remembered the day she was forced to watch the death of her sisters. Each of them had begged Blaire but she knew best than to defy her master. So she painfully said goodbye to the girls she had grown up with. Soon after that she watched others die by her hands and slowly, her heart built a heavy wall around it where she felt no empathy. She was enveloped in a coldness that covered every inch of her skin and the sight of blood had stopped repulsing her.
She was pulled out of her thoughts when she heard a scream coming from the manor. She propelled herself indoors not the least bit surprised at the scene in front of her.
