When Elise stepped into the room, she found Linette in the bathroom covered in the rose petal scented bubbles and her curly strawberry blond dyed head wrapped securly in a white towel.

Elise quirked her eyebrow at her friend.

"After today's events, I need a treat." She sang playing about with the bubbles.

Elise rolled her eyes but she smiled. At least one of them wasn't stressing themselves out. Soon Elise would get bags under her eyes and heavy spots, she could feel it.

She fell onto her bed pursing her lips to the side

"I can see your brain ticking. What's on your mind?" Linette emerged from the toilet and leaned on the door frame.

Elise just shrugged but when Linette glared at her, she rubbed her face ferociously. "We just saw someone die. I mean gone. Puff. Nada. Fin I to see ya-"

"I get it..." Lynette growled

"Something isn't right. This isn't right. This whole thing isn't right."

"Well then why didnt you leave."

Elise frowned at Linette who rushed to correct herself. "I just mean that if you are unhappy, then dont stay. As much as I would love you to stay, I wont be a friend to advice you to do something you can't."

Elise sighed. She found herself doing that quite a lot. "Its not as simple as that."

Linette crossed over and let her towel drop unashamedly to get dressed. "look, how about you sleep on it and see how you feel tomorrow morning. You would always be allowed to leave."

Elise nodded.

Tomorrow morning followed and Elise's mood couldn't have soured more than it did last night. She'd woken up earlier than everyone else in the house because her body betrayed her and just couldn't fall back asleep, and wanted to take a walk in the garden to gather her thoughts only to be stopped by a guard. He had informed her that as of today, no one could go to the garden without being accompanied by either him, another guard or one of the vamp residents.

She remembered calling the poor guy a bastard and other foul words before she marched with a new mission to locate his majesty's office.

She bumped into general Hague and her annoyance levels spiked up a fraction.

"Where do you think your going?" Hague had questioned holding down the fuming little human by her shoulders.

"I would like to see your King."

"He isn't available at the moment."

"To hell with being available. I didnt ask nor do I care. I would like to see him." when Hague didnt make any movement to obey her wishes, she stamped her feet impatiently and huffed. "Take me to him then."

Hague stepped back and regarded the female. He had just left Vincents office and it was true, the man was busy but his childish nature took over his authoritative one and he directed Elise on how to get to his office. He could only imagine the look on vincent's face and frankly his telling off later would be worth It.

Elise didnt bother to knock. She marched into the room and momentarily wished she wasn't so brass.

A dark haired woman sat on Vincent's lap letting out a string if moans as Vincent sank his fangs deeper in her tanned neck.

Vincent smelt the change in the air that alerted him of another presence. Elise's to be in fact. He kept his eyes trained on her green ones as he tightened his grip on the woman who's name he couldn't remember and sucked the coppery metallic blood. When he released her he did it slowly and sealed up the wound with his saliva. All the while, his intense gaze remained fixed on Elise who was reacting so intensely to the moment that she could feel Vincent's tongue run across her neck and send sparks running through her delicate body. Vincent licked the blood around his lips slowly, his eyes never once leaving Elise.

The dark head woman purred her appreciation before sauntering out of the office not forgetting to throw Elise a look of pure disgust. Elise dismissed her with a flick of her middle finger until she was out of sight. Once she was alone with Vincent in his office, her mind trailed back to what she had just witnessed. Elise never seemed to stop being reminded of what these creatures were and now she'd seen one feeding. Was it wrong that it was almost erotic?

Elise marched the rest of the way to Vincents desk. "What in the actual hell? Now we don't have freedom. What's the point. End the fucking competition. I'd rather my freedom than this."

Vincent smirked "you are not stopped from leaving, little one. In fact you can leave right now if you want."

There it was. He'd thrown out the bait knowing full well that Elise couldn't take and felt a small stab at her pride.

"I hope you know what you did, feeding from that girl. Its completely inhumane and disgusting."

"We never claimed to be human little one. Its our form of survival. It's a necessary evil."

"You disgust me."

"Thats funny. The irony of things, mon Cherie. You are in a competition to win the heart of a race you despise," he leaned forward onto his arms "so why are you here then Elise?"

Elise faltered for a second. "I guess I needed to remind myself what you really are and not what they show on TV or what you let people See. And what's the best way, why being close to the heart of your race of course, being close to you, your majesty."

In a flash, Vincent had Elise trapped between his mahogany desk and his rock hard body. It was the second time in the two days she'd found herself in this position and she had no one but herself to Blame.

Vincent trailed Elise's neck and jaw line with one hand and her exposed thighs with the other. "if you wanted it so much, I could feed from you like I did my pet. I'd make you feel good."

An involuntary moan escaped the red heads mouth much to Vincent's pleasure.

"Just say it Elise. Tell me you want me to feed and sate myself with your blood and I will.

Did his eyes get more golden since she last saw him? The pull was strong but Elise was stronger. She slapped the king square in his face before stepping out his embrace.

"Don't you ever try to lure me in again. I'd never let you feed from me."

She dismissed herself from his office and bumped into a laughing Hague who failed to compose himself and marched to go find Alexander, Linette or Chasity, which ever one, she didn't care just as long as one of them took her far away from his royal full-of-himself-ness. Yes it is not a word, she thought, but her mind was racing and her hormones were in overdrive and if she didn't do something about the dark king himself, she would die at his hand.
