Alexander had happily obliged to escort Elise to the garden. She couldn't help sticking her tongue out at the smug guard putting a reminder in her head to get back at the Vampire.

The younger brother to Derek would in normal cases laugh at her outlandish behaviour but today his lips were set in a grim line.

Elise wanted to ignore the brooding vampire who in all honesty was cramping her early morning but he was the only one she would let near her this morning and Elise couldn't shake off the fact that he was growing on her.

She sighed before reluctantly asking the vamp what his deal was.

He cocked his head to the side contemplating whether to confide in elise. "You know what I wouldn't mind doing?"

Elise raised her eyebrow following on with his games.

'Getting a taste of you." Alexander smirked wrapping his arms around Elise who riggled free.

For as long ad she had known Alex, and that wasn't too long, he had been constantly flirting with her and trying his luck. At first Elise put it down to plain rudeness and dismissal of the fact that she is human and not his personal blood bag but after a while, there was nothing she could do to change the vampire. He was the way he was and he meant no harm. Surprisingly. Yet today, his comment that had familiarity to it, also lacked it. His smile didnt even reach his eyes and his words were there just for show. It dawned on Elise that maybe vampires feel too. She'd seen too many cold hearted faces, her mind never considered them to be human like.

"You know, someone once told me to be true to myself and not constantly bottle things up." she quirked her eye brow and Alexander rolled his eyes. He had been the one to explain this to Elise a day before the first Trial. "You can tell me."

"Come let me show you something."

Elise frowned but she followed Alexander without question. A little tiny voice in the back if her kind screamed at her to run back to the manor, that she wasn't safe with the likes of a vampire dragging her deeper into the garden.

They stepped over twigs and when it Wasnt them and Elise heard more twigs snapping, the tiny voice grew even more until goose pumps scattered over her body and her right side of her ear tingled.

"Alex where are we going?"

Alex didn't answer. He too was in his own world overwhelmed by a need to show Elise what had been plaguing his mind. He could smell the fear in Elise as they wandered further away from the manor but she shrugged it off.

After a bit more walking, Alexander grabbed Elise's hand and walked a bit further. For Elise, she felt a sudden air change and a sucking sound that popped her ear and washed over the rest of her body. The view in front of her had changed. The sky had darkened and the kings well groomed garden was a frost with masses of trees that covered every part of the floor.

Wordlessly Alex guided them in and out of the trees until they came to a clearing where slabs of concrete lay. Looking closer, Elise realized Alexander had walked to a grave yard. She began to slowly back up from the vampire, gradually looking at him in new eyes with new found fear. Though Alex stood in the middle of grave yard watching her. He turned and knelt down in front of a slightly larger gravestone and traced the name Noelle Antoinette Dubois.

Elise felt a flash of guilt before she composed herself and walked slowly to her friend.

"I loved her so much." He frowned, a sad smile playing on his lips.

"Who was she?"

Alexander turned around and sat down next to the grave stone and looked into the sky reminiscing.

"She was my wife." Elise was taken back but remembered that being a vampire, he would have lived many lives, she shouldn't be surprised he had a wife.

"any kids?"

Alex snorted and shook his head solemnly. "She was pregnant but we all knew it wasn't a safe pregnancy. She could be impregnated by the likes of me." Elise didn't know what to say so she kept quiet. "I wasn't born in Paris. Derek and I used to live in Russia. And was even born there." Elise was taken back at the new price of information. she could o my now hear the slight accent probably washed away by his years of living. "Derek had a very good business going on there. He was always quick on the ball. I however, felt out of place and thought a change if scenery would help. I moved to Paris when I was around 95 years old. and met Noelle on my first day there."

Alex looked at Elise taking in her features that reminded him so much of Noelle. Elise could be Noelle if she tried but the girl was in the dark and it had to stay that way.

"Noelle was sweet, down to earth. She had a secret fire in her that only I could see. Well thats what i'd like to believe. And in bed she was amazing when I finally made her mine..."

Alexander stopped not carrying on further.

"Then what happened?"

A dark Look crossed Alexanders face that Elise had never seen before. He was always so carefree. The topic of Noelle showed a glimps of a side of Alexander Elise didnt want to cross over.

"She was taken away from me. I know she loved me, I do. But fate doesn't always allow some things to happen."

"Who took her?"

Alexander glanced over at Elise's innocent face and smiled. She didn't understand and she wouldn't. He silently begged in his head for her to remember. For things to pick up where they left. Where she would carry his child again and this time, he wouldn't let anyone or anything harm the child no matter what fate said.

"We're not at the Garden anymore are we?'

"Nope. But its just you and I." Alexander wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. Elise wandered how the man could jump from being sad and sorrowful to flirting with her again.

Elise smacked his arm when she tried to touch her thighs. She got up, held her hand for Alexander who reluctantly took it and they walked back to the Garden.

Elise thought back to the girl, Noelle. She loved that name, was always planning on naming her child that. She could tell Alexander wasn't giving her the whole story and reflected on what could be so condemning that he could only give her half the story.

She shook her head as she walked up the stairs. In her room, she took out the book the Dimitiris had recommended. She'd been putting it off for some time but today seemed to be all about learning something new so she delved into the book.

Alexander sat on his bed wondering why he showed Elise the Graveyard. But he knew. Subconsciencly he wanted to be selfish. His heart called for Elise but he couldn't loose another one not again, he'd only finished rebuiling his fractured mind, body and heart.
