The ball was an hour away and Elise's heart beat was racing along with her string of thoughts. She was going to an event piled with the same creatures she had come to the manor to expose, the same creatures that fed from her species, the same creatures that could snap her neck or take a life like they did Faith. It was all quite absurd.

Earlier that morning, Linette had dragged her to some stores along with a chauffeur. She had been putting dress shopping off for so long like many other things and she couldn't escaped Linette's pleading eyes.

On their way, they had bumped into Chasity and Elise felt a little homesick not having spent enough time with her best friend who seemed to be getting even closer to her master, Derek. Of course, Derek barely even regards Elise and Linette and dragged his pet away before Elise could ask her to join them.

Whilst Linette had found the perfect dress for her that complimented her dark brown features and honey eyes, Elise couldn't find anything that screamed her. They wandered around for a while before the chauffeurs were told to take the girls home.

Elise came back to a large black box that sat on her bed with a small scented card. It read: just for you, L.

She turned the card looking for more clues as to 'L' was and had to endure the next hour of Linette poking fun at Elise that she had a secret admire.

Elise had opened the box and pulled out a long red gown. If it weren't for the fact that she didnt have anything else to wear for the Godforsaken ball, she would have threw the dress to the side.

Elise stared at her self in the mirror. She would have been lying if she said she didnt look breath taking and she wasn't vain but this was obvious. She looked stunning. She had locked herself in the toilet and curled her red hair to get huge curly locks and donned on light make up. The slit on the side of the dress showed her tanned thigh and silver heels.

She walked out of the bathroom not surprised to be alone, Linette had left her a long time ago Complaining that she was taking too long. Elise of course had been on purposely. She was trying to put off having to share a room with more vampires when she was only getting used to the residents of Ashcroft manor.

She stopped at the top of the stairs to the ball and observed the content of the room. It had be expertly decorated unsurprisingly due to the King's status and wealth. There was a vast difference between vampires and human. The vampires all seemed to talk about with their snotty noses in the air and their head held high as though they were above the humans who in awe. And then there was Blake who tried listened to a very enthusiastic Regina. Elise could see from where she was standing that the girl didnt want to be here as much as Elise didn't and failed miserably at trying to hide her discomfort and boredom. Elise didnt miss her eyes calculating and she wondered who Blake was and what her story was. everyone had a story.

Regrettably, her eyes landed on the king who stopped mid conversation to look at the red head. With the Kings eyes diverted, one by one everyone's eyes landed on her.

The king walked through the maze of people and made it up to the stairs.

"May I have this dance?" He held his hand out expectantly to Elise who looked at him and shook her head no. She could have sworn she saw a flash of hurt cross his eyes but she didnt stay to find out. She brushed past the king and went to find the Dimitiris who she was beginning to feel warm sensations when near them like a safe haven.

"Ahh you are a very naughty woman Miss Dumont." Elise still hadn't adjusted to the fact that they could speak to her in her mind especially if it was to reprimand her.

"He doesn't deserve a dance with me." She spoke out loud

"In such balls like this, we have something called the primam chorus. Meaning the 'the first Dance'. Where the King chooses someone to dance with. Its a huge honor."
