Ah the last day of Playlist. I couldn't wait to go home and sleep in my own bed. Of course I'd miss my friends but I know we'll organize something to meet up again. The only thing that concerned me was not being able to see George again. We lived extremely close, I just hoped that he would want to spend time with me outside of conventions and videos.
I really appreciated his company and took a massive liking to him. It sucks that I wouldn't be able to spend as much time with him today. I had agreed to join a panel with a bunch of other youtubers who I had been only slightly familiar with. We all created similar types of videos so it made sense to pair us all together. Although saying my content was in the same category as theirs was a bit of a stretch, no one seemed to complain.
It had been a slow day, not as many people were there the final day of the convention, it was more peaceful and we were able to spend more time at events and booths.
Eventually the time had come for me to leave for the panel, I didn't want to separate from my friends but I knew I couldn't bail after I agreed to be there.
As soon as I got backstage it seemed that all the stage managers had a collective breath of relief. One ran up to me to check me in.
         "(youtube name)?"
         "that's me"
"you're three minutes late, we've been waiting for you"
         "I know I'm really sorry"
"You can go stand by the others, we'll give you the cue and you'll all walk out and find your seats, you'll be on the farthest seat to the left."
         "Okay thank you, sorry again."
I quickly jogged over to the group of strangers I had only ever seen online, I offered them a smile to which few returned.
Suddenly a loud voice sounded behind the wall,
"Thank you everyone for the wait, now if you will please put your hands together for..." The names started pouring out of the loud speaker, mine being last. I walked out to a sea of cheering teenagers, I gave a big bright smile and waved to them as I sat down at the corner of the table.
The panel went smoothly, typical questions with typical answers. I mentally gagged at the responses the others gave, they were so fake, they were embarrassing themselves. Myself however, kept it real. If there was anything I was good at, it was speaking freely. I gave my honest answer every time one of the viewers would address me.
During the panel stage managers would choose people from the crowd to ask a member of the panel a question, the person from the crowd would stand up and be handed a microphone. The whole process took about three minutes per question. It was a slow and dreadful process.
For the most part I drowned out the noise in the room and spaced out, hardly caring about the questions being asked. Suddenly a deep smooth voice pulled me out of my own mind.
"I have a question for (y/n)" George's warm voice broke me of my trance. ": Do you believe in (shipname)?" The audience went insane. My jaw fell unintentionally. I made eye contact with Joji's deep dark eyes. I must have been bright pink.
Quickly I pulled my microphone from the stand and traveled off the stage. As I made my way over to him I spoke into it. "Well if I'm going to be honest, I'd say I like the ship and everything about it." I chuckled.
I finally stood in front of George. He had a smirk on his lips that told me everything he was thinking.
"I'd like to inform you all we are not currently in a relationship, despite what many of you believe."
The room held a collective groan of disappointment.
"And to make up for that sad fact, I'd like to send you all home with a video you can add to your fan edits"
I tipped George's head down to reach me, as I cupped my hand on his jaw. Quickly I slammed my lips into his own, the room breaking into utter chaos. Behind my closed eyes I could see flashes surrounding us. It felt like I was walking on air. This may not have been the smartest way to do this, but I couldn't let an opportunity like that go to waste.
